A Ski Paradise with Unbeatable Convenience - Condominium Hakuba Goryu Review
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)
My family and I recently enjoyed an exhilarating stay at Condominium Hakuba Goryu from January 21st to 26th, 2024. Situated on the slopes of the Goryu Resort in the Hakuba Valley, this self-service 2-bedroom condominium offered us an unforgettable ski-in/ski-out experience that was both thrilling and convenient.
Accommodation: While the property showed signs of aging, with fixtures, fittings, and the kitchen in need of some tender loving care, it didn't detract significantly from our overall experience. The dual hotplate, microwave, and toaster oven provided the essentials for cooking, although an electric kettle would have been a welcome addition. The drying room for snow gear was spacious, and the in-room heating worked like a charm, ensuring our comfort after a day on the slopes.
Host and Service: Shuto, our host, deserves special commendation for his exceptional service. His willingness to go the extra mile, including organizing a nightly supermarket run and setting up an outdoor fire on the viewing deck for our enjoyment during night skiing, truly elevated our stay. Shuto's dedication and assistance were invaluable, making us feel well taken care of throughout our vacation.
Convenience and Value: The accommodation's location proved to be its greatest asset, offering true ski-in/ski-out access. The nightly supermarket run was a game-changer, saving us the hassle of worrying about food and drinks for our family, especially with young children in tow. The laundry facilities were useful, though the limited number of machines meant planning ahead was crucial.
Tips for Future Guests: For a seamless arrival, coordinate with the host for a pick-up from Hakuba train station or Hakuba Goryu bus stop. This is particularly important to avoid any unexpected challenges, especially when traveling with children.
Overall Experience: Our overall experience at Condominium Hakuba Goryu was fantastic. The unbeatable location, coupled with the ski-in/ski-out convenience and Shuto's exceptional service, made it a memorable stay. Despite minor aging in the facilities, the accommodation offered great value for money, and we're already planning to book again for our next ski adventure.
For those seeking a ski paradise with convenience at its core, Condominium Hakuba Goryu is a solid choice, promising a thrilling and memorable stay amidst the snowy...
Read moreConsidering the price, distance from ski parks, and hotel services, all I can say is that this hotel is superb — though it needed some bedding improvements. There was a time where I got into a snowboarding accident and I was supposed to be rushed to the nearest hospital (next city) by an ambulance but I was forced to stay at the Rescue centre until further notice. Marco the hotel manager was called to the Rescue Centre and offered me a drive to the hospital. It was a 30-minute drive and when we got there, he helped us with his Japanese and was able to explain pretty well my condition. He waited until I finished all my tests. Bare in mind that he drove us there from 9:30 pm and waited a couple of hours. We got in to our hotel at 2:00 am, but Marco still was able to put a smile after the help tho I could literally tell he was really tired. He is truly an amazing guy. We couldn’t have done it...
Read moreAfter we arrived at the train station, the suggestion to get to the condo is calling a number that shows in the booking and someone will pick you up. So I called and of course Marcos is the one who picked us up. He dropped us by the convenient store for buy some foods, snacks before get to the condo. The condo is not that new but you will have everything that you need. Dry room for snowboard/ski equipments. You can cook in your room, the kitchen has everything. A living room is so comfy. If you want to buy a fresh food, you can make an appointment one day before, Marcos will give you a ride to the supermarket. You just open the window, you already see the slope, which is the point to stay here. The important thing is Marcos can speak very good english. He helps me a lot when I got accident while snowboarding. Without him must be more tough. Thank you never be enough. Excellent...
