Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Hotel Nagayama — Hotel in Kaga

There's only really one reason you'd come here and that is for the all inclusive Onsen and meals package in a traditional tatami room experience that the Japanese seem to love so much.

It is nice, don't get me wrong, but it's not great. As the rating says, it's OK.

There are enough baths, 3 and a sauna too, with the usual amount of wash units.

The rooms, on the lake side, have a nice view abs you get the bonus of watching the Japanese air force practice manoeuvres in their jets.

I guess on the other side you have a nice view of the mountain range that seems so close.

The food was OK. Crab is the big menu item, as much as you like of it. As for the rest of it, it's a buffet and as such it's not the best food, but there's certainly nothing wrong with. It's busy during service, so this place certainly seems popular and we weren't even there at the weekend.

Would I come...

As our train arrived at 14h45, we called them few days prior to book the shuttle bus. They told us : no problem, we have a shuttle bus leaving around 14h40-45, you will take this one, we will wait for you.

When we arrived, we had a call at 14h44 saying : some clients wanted to leave before so we couldn't wait for you, you will have to take the next shuttle bus which is at 15h45.

We had to wait at the station and they did not made any commercial gesture!

Also we paid an extra during booking for have crab at the buffet, only to discover that crab is included for everyone in the buffet so they just made us pay an extra for nothing!

The service is very disappointing and not trustworthy, I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you want to have a nice...
