This hotel is an average star hotel. Nothing amazing but also not bad. The worst part of the stay was the beds and the noise. Two very important things for sleeping. Because the rooms have tables placed in front of the balcony door you constantly hear other guests dragging or moving their tables around during the night which will wake you unless you’re a hard sleeper. I wore ear plugs and still heard it sadly. Sleep wasn’t very good here because of this. The beds were also very hard and I’m not being a picky American. The beds are hard according to even Japanese standards. I’ve stayed In other hotels in Japan and have never experienced mattresses so tough. The rooms were mostly clean except for what looked like dirt and dust behind the top of my toilet which wasn’t ideal. There is no full length mirror which sucked when getting ready but there is one in the elevator. The hotel serves buffet breakfast from 7-10am I believe for about $8 a ticket. The food was very good and the experience was nice and pleasant. The amenities were the best part. Everyday there were new shampoos and slippers and such and water bottles which helped a lot. The hot water in the showers were pretty nice but can be a bit spotty. The staff doesn’t speak any English but I don’t find that to be a problem, we’re tourists in their home, we should learn a little Japanese maybe lol. But still the service was fine. We google translated and they had sheets with English translation. I have no complaints. They greeted me kindly whenever I came in and left. There’s a tv with streaming services connected so you can experience the regional shows and other shows in Japanese. And lastly there is a balcony but it isn’t anything nice enough to sit out and enjoy. The hotel is also right near the station but you have to transfer and take the bus to other stations to get around the rest of Japan unless I am misunderstood. But that didn’t cause any issues for me. I know this is long but I hope it helps someone.
Update: I asked to change my room and they were very accommodating and kind about it. The new room is a little more quiet and much better. If you are a light sleeper like myself I recommend telling the staff when checking in and they will provide you a room away from noise. Very good customer service. Updated my rating to accommodate for the much...
Read more❌ Completely misleading for tourists – don’t be fooled by the location description!
We stayed at Hotel Kanade in Osaka and had a very frustrating experience. If you’re visiting Osaka for sightseeing or with a tourist plan — this hotel is one of the worst possible choices. Please read before booking!
📍 Far, FAR from central Osaka! • The hotel advertises itself as “close to the city” — this is absolutely not true. It’s located almost as far from the city center as the Kansai Airport! • Reaching famous spots like Namba, Dotonbori, Osaka Castle, or Umeda takes over an hour by train, and that’s if you’re lucky with connections. • You’ll spend a lot of money daily on transportation just to get into town — so any “cheap” price you think you’re paying for the room is completely lost on expensive train tickets. • It’s exhausting to commute back and forth every day just to reach places other tourists are already exploring within minutes.
⸻
🚫 Totally misrepresented online • The location is intentionally misleading on many booking sites. It’s placed in Osaka, yes — but nowhere near where you’d want to stay as a traveler. • This is not a central hotel, not even close. Don’t fall for the maps or vague “near train station” claims.
🍽️ Breakfast is a joke • Poor variety, low quality, no care. • One day there was only a single croissant allowed per person, the next day not even that. • Food was stale, options were minimal, and the breakfast staff were indifferent and unfriendly. • You’re better off grabbing something from a convenience store nearby — seriously.
⸻
🧼 Only one plus: the room was clean • That’s all. Nothing else stood out in a positive way. • Clean bed and bathroom, but for the price, location, and service, there are many better hotels closer to the actual heart of Osaka.
⚠️ Final advice:
If you’re a tourist, avoid this hotel completely. If you want to enjoy Osaka, stay near Namba, Umeda, or even Tennoji — anywhere closer to the real attractions.
Don’t waste your money or your time commuting 2+ hours every day. This hotel might look nice on a map, but in reality, it’s not worth the...
Read more❌ Not suitable for tourists – very disappointing stay
I stayed at Hotel Kanade for a few nights, and overall, the experience was disappointing. If you’re visiting Osaka for tourism, I strongly recommend choosing another hotel. Here’s why:
📍 Very misleading location! • The hotel is advertised as being “close to the city center,” but in reality, it’s almost 30 km away from Osaka’s main attractions. • Although it’s near a local train station, you’ll need almost 1 hour to reach central Osaka every day. • You end up spending a lot of money on train fares, making the stay far from budget-friendly. • Traveling from the hotel to the city center takes almost as long as traveling from the airport – not ideal for tourists. • In short, you think you’re saving money, but with the extra transportation costs and time lost commuting, it’s really not worth it.
🥐 Breakfast: Very poor quality • Reviews said the breakfast was good, but I found it to be extremely basic and low quality. • On the first day, there was just one croissant per guest — and on the following days, there were none at all. • Other food items were very limited and lacked freshness and taste. • The breakfast staff were impolite and unhelpful, and it was honestly not worth paying extra for breakfast here.
✅ Clean, but that’s about it • The only positive aspect was the cleanliness of the rooms. • Other than that — poor location, bad breakfast, and unprofessional staff — I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone planning a sightseeing trip in Osaka.
📌 Summary:
This hotel is located far outside the city, transportation is time-consuming and expensive, and the breakfast is both limited and low in quality. Staff are not friendly, and despite clean rooms, I would not stay here again. Definitely not recommended...
