We had the pleasure of staying at Big Hem Maison for 6 days during spring. Even though we booked last-minute, Ma’am Matte, went above and beyond to accommodate us. Their kindness and attention to detail made this one of our most memorable stays in Japan—it truly set a high standard for the rest of our trip. 🫡

Seamless Navigation & Thoughtful Planning It was our first time in Japan, but we had no trouble getting around thanks to Ma’am Matte. She thoughtfully prepared detailed train routes for all our destinations, making everything incredibly easy to navigate. On top of that, she gave us amazing food recommendations and even curated a list of must-visit places—every detail was considered!

A Cozy, Immaculate Home Away From Home We were upgraded to the biggest bedroom in the house, and it exceeded all expectations. The mattress was spotless and comfortable, and every corner—from the kitchen to the bathroom—was sparkling clean and cozy. The warmth of the house made us feel instantly at home, like we weren’t just visiting Japan, but actually living in it.

Unmatched Hospitality The hosts are truly one of a kind. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable—even lending us towels when we moved to another accommodation and helping with our transfers on the last day. Ma’am Matte even let us leave our baggage so we could freely explore before our flight. Their hospitality is simply top-tier—nothing beats it! 🥰

Bighem Maison is a great place to stay. The interior design is great you will feel the Traditional Japanese House vibes. The environment is peaceful and you can rest well. The shower room and toilet is clean with free liquid soap which is great for the skin 😍 with shampoo and conditioner as well, no need for you to bring soap and shampoo. Matte and Eric was a great host. Matte gives direction which route to take whenever we go to different tourist attractions. She give us tips what to buy and where to buy the cheapest items for gifts and pasalubong.

The location is just few minutes away from train station and its just near the airport which is very convenient if you have lots of bags and luggages to bring back home. One more thing the place is just near the Rinku Premium Outlet you can go there in just few minutes and you can shop high end brands with lowest price.

The highlight of our trip we were able to go to Koyasan and experience snow for the first time 😍 Koyasan is just 2hrs away from the location. According to Matte if you know how to drive you can rent a car for a lowest price near the area and you can bring it to Koyasan its a great place during winter and spring.
