I rarely write reviews, but my experience at this hotel was so unpleasant that I feel obligated to warn future guests. I booked this place because of the beautiful photos online and its supposedly “luxury” reputation. The lobby did look nice when I arrived — polished floors, soft lighting, and friendly front desk staff. For a moment, I thought I had made a good choice. That feeling lasted right up until I stepped into the elevator. The moment the doors opened, I was hit with a wave of something indescribably awful — a sour, musty, almost rotting smell that made my stomach turn. It was like wet dog mixed with spoiled food and moldy carpet. I thought maybe it was just that one elevator, so I held my breath, went up quickly, and hoped for the best. Unfortunately, every single elevator I used during my three-night stay had the same stench. Some were worse than others, but none were remotely acceptable for a hotel claiming to be four stars. I mentioned it to the front desk on my first night, and they gave me a polite smile and said, “We’ll have housekeeping check on it.” Nothing changed. The next morning, same thing — doors open, the smell punches you in the face. By the third day, it was unbearable. I started taking the stairs just to avoid that disgusting odor, and I was on the eighth floor! That’s how bad it was. What makes this situation even worse is that it wasn’t just the smell — the elevators themselves were filthy. The mirrors were smeared with fingerprints, the floor had sticky spots like spilled soda, and the metallic buttons were grimy to the touch. One elevator even had a faint brown stain near the corner that I really don’t want to think too hard about. I saw a cleaning staff member on one of the mornings and politely asked if the elevators were being cleaned regularly. She sighed and said, “We try, but it’s been like this for a while.” That says everything you need to know about the management’s priorities. The rest of the hotel wasn’t much better. My room was okay but had a faint damp smell — probably from the same ventilation system that circulates whatever horror is brewing in those elevators. The hallways felt humid and poorly ventilated, and there was a noticeable lack of maintenance everywhere you looked. What really frustrates me is how easily this problem could be fixed with proper cleaning and upkeep. It’s not like this is an old budget motel on the highway — this is supposed to be an upscale hotel in the middle of the city. But no matter how nice the lobby looks, no guest can overlook the fact that every elevator ride feels like a trip through a garbage chute. In short: if you value your nose, your stomach, or your sanity, avoid this hotel at all costs. There are plenty of other options nearby that actually smell like cleanliness, not decay. I wish I could...
