オーベルジュグルービー — Hotel in Kijimadaira

I travelled with my Japanese family from Osaka to Auberge Groovy in October for a one overnight stay. My family has stayed with Groovy-san 5 times before but this was my first visit and I have to say that Auberge Groovy outshines some of the Michelin Star restaurants that I have been to in Northern California and in France. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the hospitality we received from the owner and his wife was far above what you might find in the USA and actually, I thought it was quite extraordinary even on the Japanese standard! || ||The guestrooms were very comfortable and clean with tatami and beautiful views of the surrounding area. The restrooms and bath were orderly and clean as was the entire upstairs and dining area. This was truly a great place to find the tranquility I was looking for in Japan. But I think one of the main reasons we came to Auberge Groovy was for the apple beef steak and I must say that we were not disappointed. The apple beef steak was soft, tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. I think the other reviews have given a good synopsis of the cuisine at Auberge Groovy so I won’t elaborate here except to say the food was exceptionally delicious both the dinner and breakfast, the wine selections were nice, the table settings immaculate, and the raccoons and fox made their appearance just as coffee was being served after dinner. よく行く木島平スキー場に有名なレストランがあるということで初めて行ってきました。今年、リフト代がとても安くなっているのでその分レストランで奮発することにしました。 開店直後に行きましたがテーブルがちょうど満席で、スキーブーツを脱いで上がる大きな囲炉裏を囲むテーブルに通されました。 大人2子供2で、ハンバーグ定食2つ、Wサーロインステーキ定食1つを注文しました。 サーロインステーキはシェアして食べましたが、ソースが懐かしい洋食の味でとても美味しかったです。でもハンバーグの味はどう伝えたらいいのか分からないけど違和感というか変な味がしました。これで通常の味なのかよく分からないですがソースは美味しいので構わず食べました。 ご飯は通常でも大盛かのように多くモリモリ食べられます。 有名人もたくさん来店しているようで沢山の写真が貼ってありました。 なぜ長野に数ある有数のスキー場の中、長野県民のためにあるようなローカルなスキー場に来るのかよく分かりませんが、もしかしてここのレストラン目当てなのでしょうか… ドリンク付けて合計7500円くらいでしたが、スキー場で何処にでもある冷凍食品で温めるだけのカツカレーや麺類がバカ高い食堂よりは、手の込んだ料理を食べた方が家族のスキーイベントとして充実感が...
