The Kochi Youth Hostel Sake no Kuni Kyowakoku is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Engyojiguchi Station. Upon entering the hostel you are pleasantly surprised by its spacious interior. The individual rooms are adequately equipped and for a hostel they have a good size. The showers and toilets are correctly and to meet almost a middle class hotel. Upon request and for an additional fee you can be taken dinner and breakfast in the hotel lobby. My tip: Book the dinner and breakfast. It is very delicious !! For the smaller purse a Konbini market is recommended on the opposite of the hostel. More restaurants can be found along the moderately busy road (caution: No footpath !!). To visit the city of Kochi you should inner use the regional trains that depart from Engyojiguchi Station.||My conclusion: This hostel corresponds in its facilities and its services a good middle class hotel. Because of its remote location limited suitability of downtown...
Read moreHi. I'm from Taiwan. I traveled with my friends to Kochi for one night. At first, we couldn't find any photos of this hostel only the comments online. Yet, when we got there, the hostel was completely clean and new. ||||For starters, the host was very kind. The rumored said that he used to make sake for a living. That's why there were so many sake and plum wine in the restaurant. My friends and I ordered three glasses of different sake and plum wine. They were so good. Yet, it was too heavy to carry it back to Tokyo. Otherwise, we would have bought bottles of them home.||||Second, the shower room and toilets were very clean. The best part was that our room was pretty big comparing to the other hostel. It was also clean and comfy.||||Anyway, this hostel was excellent. Definitely got an A if there were a...
Read moreI needed to find the place in Kochi city to stay urgently for the next day and found out there were only smoking rooms left on the hotels near city center and Kochi station. Because I don't smoke, I always steer away from smoking room. This one located two stations away from Kochi station, non-smoking room was available and was super cheap. The place was new, clean. It has a spacious lobby/dining room. The staffs were super nice. The room was small, but new, clean, and in relaxing atmosphere. Next door was a Family Mart! ||The only downside was the station one need to get off/on the train. It was small so only Local train stops here. At some time of day there may be only one train service per hour so you need to check the schedule and plan well. ||Overall, I'll...
