It’s a great place to stay as it’s well located to key places such as concert halls, art museum and a few shopping alleys. The counter staff are very polite and they do speak good English if you need to communicate with them. There is a public bath available in this hotel at level 2 and do get the coupons together with your breakfast coupons the night before going back to the room. ||To reach this hotel from the Fukuoka international airport, get a ticket to Kurume Highway bus No. 4. Ticketing machine is within the arrival hall and duration is between 45-60min depending on traffic. Do press the bell to alight just before Nishitetsu Kurume stop point because if you alight at Kurume Train Station it is a long walk!||The Hotel was open just in 2019 April and the facilities are very new and well-designed! The breakfast features most of Fukuoka’s produce in the prefecture and it’s a great treat. Lunch and dinner is awesome accompanied with good selections of sake produced locally by award winning brewery. City Plaza is a nice shopping venue and it also houses arts and music activities so keep a look out for programs in that space. ||On the down side, train station is a long walk as mentioned therefore taking a local bus (please prepare small change!) which is payable at the exit which is...
Read moreThis appears to be an old hotel that has undergone recent renovation. The facilities look new and clean. Unfortunately, the service mindset still reflects the outdated, rigid style typical of older Japanese business hotels.
We are used to strict policies in Japan, but charging extra for a towel for our 2-year-old daughter was unreasonable especially since we weren’t even asking for extras, but simply enough towels for the number of guests in the room. This kind of practice might be acceptable for day-use onsen guests, but not for paying hotel guests.
We had also requested a non-smoking room in advance, but were given a smoking room without any prior notice or apology. The staff simply informed us upon arrival, without acknowledging the request at all.
The onsen was decent, and the breakfast was average. As for the location, it’s inconvenient, situated roughly in the middle between two train stations, each over 1 km away.
In short, this is one of those dated Japanese business hotels disguised under a fresh coat of paint. It may be fine for a solo business traveler with minimal expectations, but not recommended for families or anyone expecting proper...
Read more😊: Since the prices at other hotels in Fukuoka explode for Saturday we had to book this hotel in Kurume which fits with our travel plans, but it turned out to be a great choice! The hotel is located right in middle of 2 train stations (JR Kurume station and Nishitetsu-Kurume station - 1km from each). The first day when we came from Kumamoto, we stop at JR Kurume station and go to the hotel, then the next day, we go to Nishitetsu-Kurume station and take the Nishitetsu train to visit Dazaifu. The location of the hotel is perfect then for our travel plans, the surrounding areas is quiet but beautiful as well, in the middle of the city. Other than that, our room is quite spacious with comfy bedding, big flat screen TV and every amenities needed. The staff speaks English very well so no communication problem at all. A big bonus that I didn't know was that every guest has access to a public bathroom (natural thermal onsen) in the 2nd floor. They even provided yukata and slippers, towels for that. It's a shame that we didn't use this service since we were to shy. Overall a great experience...
