NOIE — Hotel in Kushimoto

Very unique hotel with excellent customer service. The hotel only has 5 rooms, we stayed in the smallest room but it was still very spacious. Each room is located In a building which was built over 100 years ago. The interior and furnishings in the rooms were incredible. We stayed for one night and had 2 meals with alcohol pairing for dinner. The dinner was very nice and each course had a pairing alcohol (champagne, wine, beer and nihonshu were served). The breakfast was nice too. You can also have drinks for free in the cafe and all the alcohol in your room is free (with the exception of champagne). A very unique vacation experience. The site shown on google maps is the reception/cafe house. The different accommodations are situated around it. I stayed in Uetmasu. Basically it is an old house refurbished and modernized as an accommodation. It is not a ryokan in that sense. No phones/tv but there’s Wi-Fi and the connection is excellent. Lots of free drinks including umesu! Nice big deep bath for us to soak in. Heating is excellent. Everything works nicely. Only minor issue is the ceiling beams are low; so watch your head. My husband and I stayed one night at Nipponia. We really loved how much detail the staff puts into anything: from the warm welcome, to telling the story of the single rooms of the hotel with a nice booklet, recommendations around the area, the meticulous renovation of the over 100 years old houses, the amenities, the goemon bath outside, etc. Highly recommended...
