We booked this hotel on short notice for the weekend. When we arrived we were impressed by the lobby area and the friendly staff at the front desk. After check in we headed to our room and we were shocked by the condition and the looks of it. It was old, worn and very uncomfortable and looked like a prison cell or asylum! The website we used to book the hotel showed very different pictures from the room we received so we headed back to the front desk and complained about it. The front desk agent told us, that the room we booked was not available and he provided us an „upgrade“ to another room. We headed back to the elevator to go to our „upgraded room“, however this room was slightly better as the previous one, we accepted it and stayed there for the weekend. The room was ok, however not very nicely decorated and designed but bed’s were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and comfortable as well. The room and bathroom was very clean but the amenities and accommodations were very limited and far from a hotel that calls itself “grand”. There were no towels provided for the onsen and it was very difficult to manage that situation. The hotel was also filled with families with lots of little kids. Not the experience i would expect from a so called “resort and spa”. We played almost 700€ (110.000Yen) for two nights in a very average room for a kids hotel with lots of noise! In this price wasn’t even breakfast or anything else included.
The only positive things were the nice surroundings, the ocean view and the onsen. Everything else was below average and totally overpriced for what we received . We absolutely don’t recommend to stay here, its not worth the money and in our opinion a complete rip off! We will never ever return to...
Read moreLovely resort, with an amazing location at Taibusamisaki Nature Park! It's quite far from the train station with not many dining choices, but there is a complimentary shuttle bus which corresponds to the train and bus schedule. The hotel is in the nature park and very interesting to hike around the area. There is a visitor center right before you reach the hotel but no maps or information in English, although the staff is very friendly. The room we had was a Japanese room where the staff comes in and makes the futon bed on the floor for you. Very beautiful and comfortable. There is a fridge, a hot water kettle, and tea making set, but get some coffee at reception if you prefer that. After hiking, we enjoyed the deep soaking tub in the room, or if you prefer, a Japanese outdoor bath is available for guests. Yukata cotton kimono is provided for relaxing in the room or around the hotel except in the restaurant at dinner time. Unfortunately, the room temperature was not adjustable, so it was a little warm for us. Also, the third floor where we were was a smoking floor so it smelled quite strong in the hallway. Fortunately our room smelled like tatami, which is like fresh grass. Excellent breakfast was included in our rate. It was a very authentic Japanese breakfast with local springtime seasonal dishes like pumpkin in peanut sauce, and fresh bamboo shoots. Many western choices also such as ham, sausage, eggs, and pastries. Overall very good experience for those who enjoy the challenge of navigating without many...
Read moreDecided to book this Hotel, due to reviews and price. Wasn't disappointed. Huge rooms, that were lovely and clean and nice bathroom, Onsens (if you like that) something I can't get accustomed to yet! Outdoor swimming pool, and you can walk down one of the little trails to the beach. Great for sunsets and beach combing. It has been said on a clear day you can see Mt Fuji, which we didn't see. We stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast was delicious, both western and Asian food. Tables by the windows have a great view overlooking the sea. Only thing that I didn't like as I am a light sleeper is the noise coming from the corridors and closing of room doors.||There is a free courtesy bus that will take you to and from the train station on a scheduled timetable. If you miss the last bus - you need a taxi - call the Hotel and they will book it for you. As you are in the country the taxi's are few. This Hotel is lovely however it isn't within walking distance to the town/shops - so as we wanted to do our own thing - we rented a car - so don't forget to take an international drivers licence with you. By car it took us approx 15minutes to drive to the town...
