Our family just returned from the most amazing week at Mountain Hut Myoko, and we can’t stop raving about it! This incredible lodge wouldn’t have been the same without the amazing team—Arthur, Kristina, Joe, Mariam, and of course, the wonderful owners, Neil and Tayler (apologies to anyone I’ve missed!). They treated us like family, always ready with a smile, offering advice and assistance to help us make the most of our time on the mountain.
We absolutely loved the Family Loft room—it was perfect for our family of four, and I’m convinced those were the comfiest beds and pillows in all of Japan! The shared bathrooms were always clean & tidy. I also had the chance to check out the double ensuite room, which is ideal for a couple, with a very spacious bathroom.
A special shoutout to their restaurant, Two Pines—home to the most delicious pizzas! I’m pretty sure I tried them all, and the best part? They deliver!
Oh & I can't forget the breakfast...I couldn't get down there faster for the delicious scrambled eggs & fresh Japanese bread (they even had vegemite!!!)
I truly can’t thank the team enough for making this the best holiday experience ever. I nearly cried when I left! Already dreaming of my next stay and snow-ploughing my way around that beautiful...
Read moreI booked it last minute and this was pretty much the only place with a room to stay. It was a shared bunk room with 4 bunk beds. The room can fit 8 people and the room is not big for 8 people but definitely great value for budget travelers. Neil is a very friendly host and he will provide guidance to your inquires. The host didn't ask for passport to check-in and all the guests were very nice and friendly and I was able to make a few good friends from different countries. Breakfast is included and it was a good time to make friends as everyone got up early to head up to the mountain. There is a shack outside to put your skis and equipment and it is unlocked but I didn't feel a problem leaving my stuff there. There aren't much space to store your personal stuff in the shared bunk room so I would recommend your lock your valuable stuff in your suitcase. Having a car would be huge benefit as all mountains, except for one, is not walking distance but I think Neil arranges a group run by his car if you need help. I had problem locating it in my car's GPS but google map is fine. It is about 2 hours drive from Niigata airport and around 5,500 yen...
Read moreWe had an amazing week at Mountain Hut Myoko, after a shaky start to the season with marginal snow and warm temps, the Japow finally arrived just in time for a couple of epic powder days. Tayler, Neil, Kate, Kai and Arthur were exceptional hosts and treated us like family. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time and experienced all there was to experience in the area. The hut is cosy, warm and very homely, with like-minded skiers and boarders sharing stories over a beer in the evenings. Our room was tidy and very comfortable, best futon style duvet I've ever slept in! Options for dinner were around a 10 min walk away, with tasty ramen and all the best Japanese dishes just down the road. 3 different Onsen were also nearby, perfect to soak in after a big day up on the hill.||||Overall it was heartwarming to stay with such passionate people who genuinely want every guest to have the most memorable experience skiing/riding in Japan....
