KAYA RESORT 古宇利島 — Hotel in Nakijin

The word 'Resort' in the name is not accurate at all. Other resorts I've seen at Okinawa are hotels with their own beach and multiple restaurants.||||This is a privately run bed and breakfast (5 or 6 rooms total) located in a REMOTE part of Okinawa. ||||If you really like nature & need a place with a warm shower in the middle of nowhere, will be renting a car or enjoy biking up hills, then this place may be for you. You will be driving 20 minutes for a supermarket or a restaurant that will serve you dinner past sunset. ||||Not only is this place is Cash Only, but so is everything else within 30 minutes. Bring cash! Only Family Mart & Japan Post Office have ATMs that take International cards. ATMs are not 24 hours and the closest ones are 15-20 minutes away by car.||||There is a patio on the roof with lounge chairs for a nice view of the sky (night) / water (day) accessible by an outdoor staircase next to the entrance.||||Reserved at booking dot website. As with many places in Japan, room charge is based on the number of occupants. Paid roughly US$250/night for a family of four and I felt that was expensive for a night of using beds at someone's large beach house.||||Management was friendly and polite. A Wonderful and Welcoming StayI had a fantastic experience at Kaya Resort Kourijima.The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They were always happy to help with a smile, which made the atmosphere feel very warm and relaxing.The location is another major plus. It's in a great spot that feels peaceful and is very easy to find, making the journey there hassle-free. It served as a perfect base for exploring the beautiful surroundings.I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with excellent service...
