We went there for a day plan including dinner and onsen. Ask your hotel staff to help you to book the menu and reserve the limousine to pick you up from the JR Nara Station or Kintetsu Nara Station. A better option which they may offer is to pick you up at the south exit of Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaji station (2 stations from Kintetsu Nara station). From there is a 10 minutes ride to the hotel. If they can, you can arrange to shop at the Kintetsu NARA department store at the north exit of the Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaji before or after your meal. ||||At north exit, cross the road and turn left, you will see it right in front of you. Go to the information centre to ask for the tourist 5% discount card by showing your passport. Can have tax refund immediately at the top floor of the department store (can't remember it is the 5th or 6th floor. Daily consumption needs to add up to JPY6,000-10,000 at less, I did not pay attention as I spent more than this). It does not have any sign of the tax refund counter but there is a counter for the department store member, you just speak to them in English 'Tax refund' and they will guide you to the counter. For cosmetic items, you need to show them and they will seal it in a plastic bag for you.||||At the hotel, for food and beverage consumption over JPY5,000 for each person excluding taxes (approx. USD45) they waive onsen expenses JPY1,000 (approx. USD9) and provide free towel and yukata (cotton bathrobe). The cheapest lunch menu is JPY5,400 excluding taxes (approx. USD49). Lunch is 11:00-14:30 and dinner is 17:30-21:00. Dinner is served in a guest room but they won't give you the room key. You need to lock your valuable items in the lockers at the onsen changing room. Lockers with key or digital lock are available. You need to return the room by 9pm. You don't need to bring anything. The onsen has shampoo, conditioner, bath soap and dryer etc. Do wash before you dip into the onsen and tie up your hair if you have long hair!||||The onsen is REAL onsen. We shopped and had sightseeing for 3 days and are exhausted. Had onsen before and after the dinner and we are brand new again!||||Please be expected this is a traditional Japanese ryokan, you will sit on the tatami for the meal. The staff don't speak English but what more do you...

This hotel is not 5 star luxury, for the price it is 5 star value...£190 for a couple including Japanese breakfast & evening meal... I would highly recommend the crab we cooked in a pot...||The rooms are typical Ryokan, spotlessly clean, comfortable & we were provided with kimonos & served Japanese tea...||It has steam bath facilities with out door bathing also...the saloon bar is basic please don’t expect cocktails but if you want a good laugh on the karaoke without a massive audience this is the place to go...||The hotel staff are extremely friendly & helpful...If you want to practice your Japanese this is the place for you... the hotel was full & we were the only European guests which made it all the more fun...||Nara Park is two train stops away & a taxi ride to the hotel or the hotel at times has a shuttle bus..||If you want croissants for breakfast & a burger for dinner & expect the staff to speak fluent English this is not the place for you...if however you want a truly memorable experience then give...

We booked 2 rooms And got caught out big time, We Did not realise this was partly a Budget Hotel. First shock, No Lift from the car park, So had to lug our bags up steep steps. We then found wo were booked in a part of the Hotel,,,, With NO Lift,!!!!!! And there was like 20 + steps to room. Then Found the rooms are for Dwarfs, Yes the doors are like 5"6 high Unbelievable. Then to make it worse, Silly me, i had booked shared bathroom, But thats not the Bad bit. THERE IS NO SHOWER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Not in the last 20 + Years has this happened. In the land of Magical toilet seats, This is unbelievable. In the end we swapped the 2 tiny rooms for a larger double, And put 2 extra mattresses on the floor,,,,, Just to get a shower. But got charged another £40 On top of that Breakfast is 5X more than we paid in the last 3 Hotels... AVOID, Theres Nothing good to say about the place. Fortunately The Hotel 500 meters away, Is pretty good, We stayed...

Absolutely, you should stay here! I recommend paying extra for the food too because it was really great Buffet style where you could sample many types of unique Japanese foods. The photos of the Onsen represents exactly what the female section looks like, I read some comments that it doesn’t look the same in person but I think that’s because the men’s one is different. The hotel is a little far from Nara Park considering it’s not on a train line. There are buses but the hotel provided a shuttle to and from the park upon request and a shuttle back to the train station to leave Nara. They even give you cookies for the deer. I made all the reservations and my friend really loved this one because she said it was less tourist and more unique like a local would do. The onsen was liberating and the city is great. Highly recommend

Lovely, traditional Japanese onsen hotel. You have a choice of modern guest rooms in the east wing or traditional tatami mat rooms in the west. The hotel has a range of stay plans, we went for the kaiseki dinner and breakfast buffet plan. The food and service were exceptional. There is a small onsen with an outside bath. Both the rooms and onsen have an excellent range of products. Parking is included in the stsy price. Would stay again.

It was an old building that was okay but not well-maintained. The staff were very helpful, kind, and friendly, despite their limited English. The great bonus was the onsen (hot spring). The room was very big—almost three times the size of other rooms we stayed in during our visit to Japan. However, the location was not good at all, being next to a busy highway and very far from the old town or Nara Park.
