We were extremely tired after an exhausting day of 20000 steps and 6hrs of walking, climbing at Nara deer park and shrine areas. Was searching for an authentic Indian restaurant and suddenly I found this place and its name caught my attention . What I liked most about this place is that the owner Amar-san had mentioned that Indians don’t really eat much of naan while naan is served in most so-called Indian restaurants in Japan. Chef Tej-san is a magician. If you tell him what kind of food do you want he will make it exactly that way. Spicy, less spicy, green chilli or red chilli no matter what you prefer. We wanted to have Chhole bhature and they were not in the menu but he made it for us and God it tasted brilliant! Just superb! The smell, the presentation, the taste. Even boondi raita was added which was a surprise. Amar-san the owner makes outstanding pickles and he gave us too. Carrot pickle just tasted like mango pickle made back home in India. I just can’t thank them enough. They mentioned that they had just opened this restaurant 2 days back and were surprised how did we find the place. THIS IS THE BEST MOST AUTHENTIC INDIAN “INDIAN RESTAURANT” in Nara. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available and we being vegetarians loved it! All the best Amar-san and Tej-san. Thank you for a wonderful meal and a great time. We wish you all...
Read moreWe absolutely LOVE dining in at Balle Balle. The staff are first class ensuring that our every need is met yet they are not both ersome and allow us our space without annoying interruptions. The food is fantastic. We often order more than we can eat knowing they are happy to package up a doggy bag for us to enjoy the following day. We always look forward to our next dining experience...
