The nearest subway to this guesthouse is Midoribashi (the bridge is literally green). It's like 30 mins from Dotonbori by subway + walk. If you are a night owl who will be out late beyond midnight, it is best to get another hostel nearer to Dotonbori as the subway last train is around midnight. You will be constrained to the subway timing. There is no way to walk from Dotonbori to here unless you don't mind walking for hours. The other alternative is to take a taxi, which is really expensive. If proximity to Dotonbori is not a concern to you, then the location is just fine.
Room wise, this is a very old building. Was told it is older than 100 years old. You get the creaking noise whenever you walk on level 2.
There are only 1 shower room, 2 toilets and 2 sinks for like 12 to 14 people. For teeth brushing, you should only use the one at the back as it's unsightly to do so in the front one. In my opinion, at least 1 more shower room, 1 more toilet, and 1 more sink are needed so that people no need to wait to take turns. Was told there is a nearby onsen with shower that you can pay to use for 580 yen, but it closes at 10.30pm.
The bed itself is quite big and clean.
There is a washing machine but no dryer, which is kind of a bummer, to be honest.
The guesthouse counter is not staffed full day like other hostels, so you need to inform the owner your time of arrival before hand. It might not be the time as per advertised on the website.
The counter staffs are...

Staff: The two host welcomed me with two big smiles and were lovely. I also got recommendations from Santa about restaurants nearby and wasn't disappointed.
Room: The facility overall is traditional and pretty basic. Little inconvenient to have the toilet downstairs when the dormitory is on another level. No big deal.
The bed was comfy and you get a lot of space. I think this was one of the better rooms I've slept in during my trip.
No amenities included so make sure to bring your own towel etc. However, you can buy ticket to a nearby Onsen for a good price, and rent a bike, which is a nice addition.
Overall very satisfied! Best is the staff and the...

The worst is the location, far from everything.
Then the worst is the ceiling, you will hit your head everywhere if you're tall.
Then the kitchen is a lie because refrigerator is so full that you won't be able to use it. Owner have most his stuff in the refrigerator. It's not exclusive to guests.
Then the mosquitoes will eat you.
Then every little sound will be heard all accross the village.
And they always have special guests visiting. Forget the living room and kitchen. All you have there is a little bed that's it. The rest is for the owner and is special guests.
Then you will hit your head. And look at the menu of 500 yens for cup of tea and... you know what, just...
