Hotel Kameya — Hotel in Osaki

Quite a traditional hotel about 15 mins walk from the centre of town. Large public area where there is free WiFi ( not available in the bedrooms). Rooms are large and quaintly old fashioned. Everything is clean.|We had room 306 with beds although there are futons available (would have preferred a futon but as only staying for one night this was unimportant). Traditional Japanese sweet and green tea in the room |Shower pressure good and lots of hot water.|Indoor and outdoor onsen albeit rather small. |Dinner was beautifully presented in the second floor restaurant. En route several beautiful kimonos are on display.|Breakfast, average fare and probably not the best we had experienced during our stay in Japan. Good fresh...

The water is hypotonic alkalescent hot spring. It is blackish to greenish color with floating brown sediments. The aroma of oil and wood is superb. You feel sliminess in the water. The water is 100% natural hot spring without circulation. The bulletin board says they use chlorine for disinfection of the bathtub, I didn’t smell any chlorine smell. There are indoor and outdoor baths connected, so you don’t need to change clothes. There are seven showers for body wash. There is no locker in the changing room. Hair driers are not available because of covid-19 pandemic. The facilities are generally clean but I hope the glass window separating indoor and outdoor baths is cleaned periodically to improve the customers...

I loved this place . It's in a small town. The view of the station is already breathtaking especially in winter. We ended up at the wrong station initially which was naruko Goten Yu but the staff were kind enough to pick us up there. The quality of service of the staff is exceptional and great. 5 stars to the staff as they went all out although communication in English wasn't too straight forward. It's a small town so things closes at 7pm. If you hadn't booked dinner it would be best to head out before 7. Room is super comfortable, super warm. It's a traditional ryokan with tatami mat and futon. Clean and comfortable....
