This is a very new hotel (we chose to stay here because of their grand opening discount prices) and is located right next to Kishibe station and about a 10min walk from Shojaku station. ||||First of all, as mentioned earlier, this is a very new and pretty modern hotel. It's located in a commercial building (the first few floors of the building consists of shops and restaurants) and the lobby of the hotel is actually located on the top (9th) floor. The hotel room itself is actually quite large in Japanese standards (it even has a couch!) and about medium-sized in western standards. ||||The hotel has a spa / public bath located on the 9th floor. It is an indoor / outdoor spa. I went well past midnight so had the place entirely to myself which was nice. I actually really enjoyed the outdoor bath as it has an open roof so you can see the moon and a few stars when the weather is nice. ||||As for the location of the hotel, when we first arrived from the airport, we came from Shojaku station and walked over and got really confused as to how to enter the hotel. It took as a moment to realize that it was located inside the commercial building. To enter the hotel from street level, you can enter using the same entrance as the supermarket and take the elevator up. From Kishibe station though, just cross the pedestrian bridge, the take the exterior pedestrian bridge and enter the building. Elevators are to the left. ||||While I really enjoyed my stay here, the only downside is that the hotel is located right next to the train tracks of Kishibe station and our room was facing these tracks. As a light sleeper, I constantly woke to the sounds as passing trains. If you are a light sleeper as well, you may want to request a room facing...
Read moreThe hotel itself was fine, but the service was the worst I've ever encountered in Japan. I arrived at the hotel close to midnight and found that the door connecting to the mall's parking (the designated parking) was locked for safety reasons. Although I understood the need for safety measures, I was disappointed that the staff couldn't open the door with a key to let us in, especially since we were two girls with a lot of luggage.
We asked the front desk if there were any other ways to enter the hotel without moving all our luggage to the mall and back to the hotel, or if they could help us in any way. We were surprised to learn that the hotel had only one staff member at the front desk and a chef in the kitchen for the entire hotel. This seemed inadequate for a hotel of its size. We wondered what would happen if something went wrong and the only staff members were unable to help all the guests.
After learning this, I asked to speak with the manager, but was told that the manager was on leave and no one was in charge of the hotel until their return. Due to the poor management, I went to bed at 4am and left at 8am.
Although the hotel was built nicely, its management was a disaster. If you have to stay at this hotel, I recommend praying that nothing unexpected happens...
Read moreClean hotel with nice rooms. ||Bonus! There is a 7-11 on the second floor||hotel is also directly attached to the train station which made it a great base for getting around.||Difficult to find- located on 6-9th floor of building. We arrived on the day after a typhoon was expected to pass by the area and everything around was shut down. As a result we were prepared for some things to be different then the norm. We were hopeful to check in early, but understood many others were in same situation. What surprised me is that we were advised if we paid $2200 per room extra we could check in early. As we had 2 rooms we declined and chose to wait. Interestingly, our rooms still were not ready at check in time - so I can only wonder where we were going to go if we paid the extra money? ||Breakfast- we did not enjoy. Like most hotels the food is the exact same each day. But here it was especially limited and our 2 boys ate nothing on offer. Also, they close quite early and are circling around like piranhas wanting you to leave before the breakfast is even closed so you don’t feel comfortable. ||Good...
