My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night around New Year's. Parking is free with your stay, check-in was smooth and the concierge helped take our luggage upstairs to our room.||||Our room was located on the 6th floor of the hotel facing the ocean. Power lines and the trees obstruct the beach view, but past that you could see a nice view of the water. The room itself was very clean and came with all kinds of amenities.||||There are two public baths inside the hotel - one in the main building on the 6th floor and one in a building adjacent to the main one. I recommend going to both for the experience but budgeting more time for the one on the 6th floor as the baths are much nicer there. Also one thing we noticed was that the outdoor baths were restricted to the male baths only, and my girlfriend was slightly disappointed that she couldn't enjoy an outdoor onsen. ||||Included in our stay was dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a course meal that had two items that could be chosen from a selection (I had a fish and a steak dish). Overall the food was very good, we had no complaints. For dessert you could choose a variety of items from the restaurant's dessert buffet. The cakes and ice cream were pretty mediocre, but the gelatin-type desserts were quite good.||||Breakfast was a standard buffet at the same restaurant that had a variety of Western and Japanese selections. We especially liked the dried apricots that they served near the yogurt and cereals.||||Overall a very good stay for a relaxing New Year's. Would recommend to couples visiting Awaji and wanting a more...
Read moreWe had a very nice stay at the Okinawan style tatami (very soft) room with sea view. The view of the beach and ocean is a bit blocked by pine trees - at least until 5th floor. But there is still a good view of the coastline. The onsen is very large, has bed style resting areas in the water with with view of the mountain and autumn leaves (sadly not on novembre 23rd yet). The wooden private onsen has a very good view and a nice long chair resting area facing the coast.
We went to a restaurant for dinner, Japanese breakfast was a very wide selection of pickled food, sea weed salat, smoked fish and fermented roots. For European breakfasters, the buffet has croissants, shortbread, marmelade, bacon, omlett and yoghurt. Overall, a very good selection. At peak times in july/august or on holidays, it's best to come early for breakfast or there is a bit of waiting time. The kids area in the lobby was well equipped with jumping horses, books, a slide etc to keep children up to 6 years busy...
Read moreI stayed with my family in two rooms from Friday to Sunday and rented a car to the place.
I recommend staying a few nights in Awaji and in Sumoto city, and if so I recommend Yumekaiyu for a superb stay. Very friendly service right from the start of welcoming to attentiveness at dinner and breakfast. They also have staff near fluent in English. They also helped to park my car so I’m not sure about others’ feedback on parking slots being tight.
Good location to drive to various locations in the south of Awaji, such as to see whirlpools, uzu shio museum, etc. the hotel is also in front of a nice beach which is fun for kids. There is a small corner for younger kids for some parents break Walkable to various places in the city such as a cute ice cream shop called Awaji ice cream, Marunaka market, Sbrick
