｜民宿くろしま｜Snorkel｜ — Hotel in Taketomi

The five stars is primarily for the nature here rather than the lodging itself.||||Kuroshima Minshuku will pick you up at the port - and you should do this as it's a long walk with luggage, esp. in summer. I speak reasonably good daily use Japanese and that helped a lot. However, I got the impression that they will do their best to help you in English if they can.||||I paid 6000 yen for a room for one night with two very good meals. This is an unbelievable deal, better than you'll find almost anywhere. The room is clean, but it will be HOT in summer. Be warned. Showers and bathroom are shared. Spartan, but clean. They are at the upper end of what you'd expect on a very rural island like this. They also provide bicycles for free use, just hose them down when you get back.||||The location is spectacular. You are walking distance from the best beach on the island and one of the top 2-3 snorkeling locations in the Yaeyama island chain (Ishigaki, Taketomi, Kuroshima, Kohama, etc...). You can see an unreal variety of sealife in 1-2 meter depths. It's entirely protected by a coral reef a great distance out from the beach, so you have to be kind of an idiot or a very small child to be in danger here.||||If you are lucky, you may see some of the unusual land life too. I found two "yashigani" (coconut crabs) wandering around the streets late at night, and a still unidentified bird. Picture included below. Bring a small pocket flashlight, that will help you wander the dirt roads at night looking for nightlife without breaking your neck. I spent 1 night here. Its on the opposite side of the island from the ferry. A short 5 minute drive, or a not-so-short 40 minute walk. Its run by a married couple with young children. The woman speaks ok english, however her husband speaks almost none at all. There was just 1 other guest during my stay. The room is basic, traditional japanese, and is fine. AC is not free, and seemed to cost 100Y for 2 hours(i didn't pay). They have bicycles that are free to borrow (although they aren't in the best condition). Wifi worked great. 宿泊時期：2024年10月 予約グレード：夕朝食付き1部屋 アサインされた部屋：2F　やや大きめの部屋 ※国内外で年間150泊程するため、ほぼ自分用の備忘録です。重視する点は主にお風呂、ジム、洗濯。清潔さはそれほど気にしません。

■総評 黒島という離島中の離島に安心して泊まれる清潔な宿を提供してくれているという点で感謝、それだけで十分満足。黒島に再訪機会があればまたお世話になりたい。

■ロケーション 黒島の集落に位置しており島内観光の拠点として不便なし。港へは事前連絡すれば車で送迎してもらえる。当然ながら宿の周囲にはコンビニ等の便利な施設はない。徒歩数分でいついっても誰もいない美しいビーチあり。

■室内 -広さ 清潔かつ十分な広さで文句なし。ただし、各部屋は簡易な引き戸で出入りする仕組みで、鍵も一応あるものの頼りない（笑）。民宿なのでそんなものであろう。なお、ほとんどの部屋は広々としており窓も大きいが、他に比べて狭く窓も小さく風通しも良くない牢獄のような部屋が1つある（自分は最初にその部屋にアサインされたため、他の部屋が空いていれば替えて欲しいと相談して替えてもらった）

-景色 2Fなので部屋からの景色は特に良い訳ではない。屋上に上がると気持ちの良い風景が広がる。

-wifi 10Mb/s前後

-バスタブ 24時間利用可能な共同のシャワー、バスタブあり 洗い場スペースはかなり広く、清潔 シャンプー、ボディソープ、コンディショナーの設置あり

-お湯の温度 全く問題なし、熱々のお湯が出る

-お湯の勢い 十分な勢いあり

-ベッドの硬さ 布団＆マットレス

-冷蔵庫 室内にはなし、共同利用の冷蔵庫が廊下にあり

-セキュリティボックス なし

-コンセント 壁にいくつかあり

-ハンガー 部屋に数個あり

-バルコニー なし

-テレビ なし、食事をするスペースに共同のテレビあり

-ドライヤー なし（だったと思う）

-歯ブラシ 歯ブラシ含めアメニティ系は一切なし（タオルはある）

-騒音（隣室、屋外） 壁が薄いので隣や廊下を挟んだ対面の部屋の音はそれなりに聞こえる。うるさいかどうかは隣人次第。

■洗濯 洗濯機＆洗剤が無料利用可能

■掃除 なし（1泊だったため連泊の場合はどうかは未確認）

■食事 夕食、朝食ともに経営者の方のおいしいお手製料理をいただける。ボリュームは、かなり食べる自分にはおかずは正直少なめだったがご飯がセルフで自由にいただける＆ふりかけありのためトータルでは満足できた。夕食時には泡盛が飲み放題。

■スタッフ 夫婦で運営されており、基本的にチェックイン/アウト時と食事の際以外は（良い意味で）放置。お子さんも顔をあわせればきちんと挨拶してくれるので気持ちが良い。

■その他 ・エアコンは2時間100円で別料金。自分は暑がりなので寝る時だけ300円（6時間分）投入して利用した。

・自転車無料貸し出しあり（チェックアウトまで。チェックアウト後は有料）

・自由に読める漫画あり。

・外から見ると一瞬大丈夫かなと思うような外観だが、内部はきれいで全く問題ないので心配無用。

・缶ビールは宿にて購入可能（200円、だったと思う）

・自分の宿泊時、他に4名程宿泊者がいたが全員一人客で、夕食、朝食ともに特に交流する事もなくそれぞれ黙々と食べていた（笑）　ゆんたくが楽しかったといった口コミも散見されるが、これはその時の宿泊者次第。もちろん特にそういうものを求めていない人もいるだろうし、ゆんたくがなかったか...
