Overall, my experience at this guesthouse was positive. It provided all the basic functions of a place to stay while also offering useful services for exploring the island. I stayed in a capsule room for my solo trip, and luckily, my roommates were quiet for the whole night. The living experience was largely dependent on who sharing the room with—I was probably the noisy one, coming and going late at night to photograph the stars. The breakfast, which was included in the plan I chose, was decent. There's also a dinner and bar service available from 5 to 9 p.m., which is a necessary option since there are few other restaurants nearby for dinner. However, I ended up eating dinner elsewhere. One major challenge is the location and transportation. Public transport on the island essentially stops after 5-6 p.m., which makes this guesthouse a difficult choice for anyone hoping to enjoy the sunset or nighttime scenery in other parts of the island. Since there are few dinner options nearby, eating out requires returning to the guesthouse early or relying on a car. This is a significant drawback for solo travelers like me who typically don't rent a car, creating a contradiction between the capsule hotel concept and the lack of mobility. The shared facilities meet standard hostel expectations. The bathrooms and communal areas are shared among all guests, but they seem a bit dated, especially the bathrooms. In addition to accommodation, the guesthouse offers great services like electric bicycle rentals and beach equipment, which are perfect for exploring the island. I also learned that they offer a stargazing activity, but I was not aware of it and wasn't able to book it in advance. Fortunately, the night sky is still visible around the guesthouse.
Suggestions for the Guesthouse Offer a shuttle service. Since public transportation is limited in the evening, a paid shuttle service would be extremely helpful. A late-night pick-up at a major town, for example, would be a fantastic, and profitable, service to offer. Organize guest activities. Many hostels organize social events for guests. This would be a great way to build a stronger sense of community and attract...
Read moreThe capsule room was clean and the staff were very friendly, which was nice. I wouldn’t recommend using the shower, there are better options like nearby onsen or sento. The disappointing part was that even though I bought a drink and food at their restaurant, I wasn’t allowed to eat anything I brought from outside. The only option was to eat in the workspace, which honestly felt pretty bad.
The location itself is pretty inconvenient, I’d recommend Motomachi area instead. Overall, I’d stay somewhere else if possible, this place would be my...
