Dyring my stay in Oshima I tried for the first time the popular べっこう寿司 (bekkō sushi), which I reccomend as it's tasty.
Bekkō isn't the name of a local fish or anything like that: the word べっこう only indicates the way the fish is soaked into soy sauce and the unique spots that appear on the sashimi (which make it look like a 鼈甲 - べっこう, a tortoise shell).
It's a nice experience and the view of the port from this restaurant is quite lovely. We chilled here while waiting for our ferryboat.
