The hotel is about 15 minutes or 1800 Yen taxi ride away from Yonago station, right in front of a sandy beach. The interior is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is quite relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful (but does not speak English - I think some basic Japanese skills are required). I was not aware of the Western Breakfast option. The Japanese Breakfast is really good if you like Japanese cuisine, the dinner even very good (it included Sashimi, Tempura, fish on a little hot stone, a little shabu-shabu and some more exotic seafood), the wine served from the region fits the meal very well. ||The onsen is a bliss, one indoors, one outdoors, facing the sea-side. ||The rooms are spacious (no shower though, you have to use the onsen), nicely and simplistically decorated, also facing the sea. ||It was an ideal place to unwind, calm down and enjoy. We used it as a place to stay for one night after visiting Tottori. The next day we went to see Izumo-taisha, so I can not really judge anything...
Read moreThis is truly an au try authentic Japanese hotel (Ryokan). From room to dining to hot bath(Onsen). All are purely Japanese style. This is indeed a beautiful hotel with wonderful Japanese hospitality. The reception was so helpful and patient (as we do not speak Japanese). They tried they level best to communicate with us. They offer porter service for us too (we have 5 person). They accompany us to our room and help us to open our room door. They patiently explain to us the entire building what each level has. This is top notch service!! Kudos to them! As for our dining experience was equally awesome. They offer us authentic Japanese Kaiseki dinner and beautiful delicious Japanese breakfast. Both meals have open up our understanding about the real Japanese cuisine. The room is spacious. All of us slept in Japanese Tatami (on the floor) style. Our kids loves it. Very good experience for all of us. Overall, we all love it so much and will sure highly recommend others to stay...
Read moreExpensive for what you get. Overall a disappointment. There always seemed to be something missing. The salon bar was not a bar and only served coffee ordered from the reception desk. I had to find a convenience store in the rain to get some beer because there were no drinks in the room fridge.
Breakfast is ok. No western alternative if you don’t fancy salty fish. Rooms are small but all face the ocean. No shower in room so you have to use the public area bath or pay 2200 or 3300 yen for the private area for 40 minutes. There are two buildings and you need to walk between the two outside or walk down to the basement. and up stairs to get from one to the other. The Onsen is salty
The evening meal was a big disappointment. It tasted like home cooked food served from big trolleys in a school canteen. Not what you expect for 5500 yen each. The wait staff were noisy, very slow in collecting finished plates and...
