This is a new hotel. I stayed for 8 nights in Feb 2010. ||||What's good: It's on a gated compound with a guard (which is a must for me in Kisumu), The service is amazing. If you need a ride in a pinch the staff will take you and will not charge for the ride (unusual). I gave them a tip for taking the time. Food is very African, kitchen is open at all times. Price for stay is reasonable. We paid $278.00 USD for 8 night stay. Rooms have nets ( a must for Kisumu). Shower head drains right into bathroom (normal for Kisumu) and showers are warm. Milimani is a good area and not as noisy as the rest of Kisumu so that is good. Laundry service was good. I can't say enough about the staff. Very nice! Very helpful. My friend was sick for two days during our stay and they checked on her, offered to bring sprite to the room, take her to the doctor. Rooms open up to open courtyard which is nice at night as long as the bugs are not out. Hotel is not that far from town but far enough to be away from the noise. They have a patio by the front office with nice tables and a good place to eat or have a coke. Hotel has conference center and meeting room for group meetings. ||||What's not: The hotel is new and they are still building right by the front entrance. That made things dusty. They were moving fast so it might be finished by now. The rooms and dining room have a problem with ants. But, the staff was on it and dealing with it as soon as we spoke up. Beds are beyond firm which I didn't like. Pillows are terrible and I would suggest bringing or buying one. Hotel does not...
Read moreVery clean and comfortable rooms and bedding respectively. The staff was also very friendly and helpful in providing their services and information on how to get about the town (so first time visitors you’ve got nothing to worry about ☺️). Did I also mention how close it is to the town centre and literally every facility you will possibly ever need? Finally!!! What we all travel for! Food! Kindly do yourself a favour and have their fish, ugali and mango passion juice for breakfast lunch and supper while you’re at it! I’m definitely coming back...
