We have loved staying at Burch's in the past. We were astonished to see that they have added many new buildings, apartment-style accommodations, and a big new building in front. The rooms are still very comfortable a d the view of the lake is great ( except they parked a new building in the way. It looks like it might become a restaurant. However, with all this new stuff, they are leaning toward "mediocre" and sometimes "shabby". I thought with all the money being spent on new buildings, the old rooms would have been made magnificent. Wrong. Maintenance is clearly lacking. One light was burned out, another was a bare bulb, missing its frosted glass cover. A plug-in was improperly installed. The soap dish at the sink was loose and leaning badly, and the shower head was very much in need of replacement or fixing. The telephone in the room had a flashing red "message waiting" light, but nobody knew how to turn it off. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and supremely bland. In a country that grows tea and coffee, they serve hot (sort of hot) water with tea bags and [Dormans!!!] Instant coffee. Dorman is the worst coffee in Kenya and their instant is worse than nearly any other. The chef needs to be sent for training. And by the way, Google Maps says the price is 3,500Ksh. That's...
Read moreDuring our recent trip to Burch’s Resort in Naivasha, we had an unforgettable experience with friends. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome from General Manager Humphrey and the dedicated team, including Janet and Nyambura, set the tone for a truly memorable stay. The resort’s hospitality was exceptional, making us feel right at home.
The rooms were cozy and comfortable, offering a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. One of the highlights was the delicious food. Every meal was a delightful experience, with a variety of fresh, flavorful dishes that catered to all tastes.
We also enjoyed the resort’s team-building grounds, which were perfect for group activities and bonding. A boat ride on Lake Naivasha was another highlight, offering stunning views and a chance to experience the serene beauty of the area.
Overall, our time at Burch’s Resort was filled with fun, relaxation, and great memories. The combination of excellent service, beautiful surroundings, and engaging activities made it a perfect getaway. I would highly recommend Burch’s Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful yet adventurous escape. It’s a place I’d gladly return to any...
Read moreWe three popped in to let William, our boy, swim. Seduced by a lift from the classy entrance building (no less; granite & teak abound, lovely toilets, we found ourselves ordering food!|After a bit of a wait - we were warned! - a bolognaise for me and a battered fish and chips for Serah and William arrived. My bolognaise was more stew than ragout tbh; more seriously a little of the spaghetti was cool. It was nice if oddly creamy but I enjoyed it. What brings us back will be the rich brown crispy butter, the crunchy proper chips and a side-salad, a bit meh (Kenya is not a country of salad!). Serah had vanilla and strawberry ice-cream she liked. But it was the battered fish that stole our hearts. And I'm British so I know my fish 'n chips.|William didn't get his swim. He hired a bike and amused himself while we laughed at him. And all in the beautiful gardens of this lovely hotel. Tomorrow we'll return. I'm trying the buffet, it looked wonderful. Thanks chef, and our solicitous waiter whose name I...
