However, the facilities are quite basic, and the food menu is limited, which can be disappointing if you're staying for more than a day. What stood out to me was that breakfast was only served when there were white guests around. I’m not sure if this was just a coincidence or something deliberate, but it felt odd and left a negative impression.

Read moreI waited until the end of our trip to write all the hotels reviews. Dea’s Gardens was by far our best experience during our 2.5-week stay in Kenya (and 9 hotels). Wonderful surroundings and gardens, lovely pool well exposed to the sun, charming rooms, simple but well functional, the place is quiet and peaceful. The staff are friendly and helpful, they look after every detail. The food was plentiful and delicious; you share the dinner table with Dea and other guests in a homey and cosy atmosphere… Finally, Dea… it was so nice to meet her, she is so lovely and attentive, ready to answer all your questions and share her stories. We wish we had stayed longer than two nights....

On a week long safari we stayed here for two nights - welcomed by extremely friendly staff , the rooms were spacious and clean and we so enjoyed the beautiful gardens, the flowers and the birds. |We ate breakfast on the verandah and enjoyed a fabulous home cooked dinner each evening in the Dining room.
