Beytul Habaib — Hotel in Lamu

'Beytul Habaib' is an Arabic phrase that translates into 'The House of Love". Located in an area called Kitangani in Wiyoni, Lamu, it offers beach-front access modernised accommodation that is Swahili-themed. The facility is three-storied, comprising of three suites.

I was amazed at the ease of access to the sea; I could actually dive right into the ocean from the front porch of the facility. At only 3 Kilometers from Shela Beach, a 10 minute walk along the sea front delves you straight into the golden sand dunes of Shela. The property provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers by sea (at a small cost), a shared kitchen and free WiFi. With the heat of September, air-conditioned rooms are a real blessing. All rooms contain a desk, an electric tea pot, a microwave, a safety deposit box, a flat-screen TV, a balcony and a private bathroom with a hot tub. The hotel was a wonderful experience! The staff and the manager were incredibly friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out seamless. The hotel manager organized our airport pickup and drop off. My apartment was clean, spacious, and had a great sea view. The Swahili breakfast spread was delicious, the Wi-Fi was super fast, it didn't detract from an otherwise excellent stay. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay...
