Read moreWe came here as part of our 8/9 day tour with Enchoro and this was the final stop of our trip. Our tour guide, Tom was just special. He had such colorful stories about his life, the places we visited and the people we met. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife we saw and went the extra mile at EVERY SINGLE OPPORTUNITY to ensure we saw every animal we wanted to have the best possible experience we could.
We went during the low season in December and Tom did not give up until we saw the final member of the big 5, the leopard on our final day in Masai Mara! By the end of the trip, he was like an old friend that in our minds is inexorably linked to our memories of Kenya. The camp is absolutely lovely, the food is great, but the people are what make Enchoro special and Tom is most special amongst them all.
If you're looking to do a budget tour of Kenya, look no further than Enchoro and take my advice and ask for Tom if he's available... You...
Read moreA good rustic place to stay as it is very near to the gate of the Masai Mara national park. Ok yes it’s pretty basic and rustic but the hot water works, electricity sockets are plenty at the charging place( not inside the tent- I mean Duh!! It’s a tent what do you expect?) the mosquito net is definitely a blessing and so is the cool 15 degrees Celsius temperature in t wee hours of the mornings. The food is quite ok and lots of it if you’re a meat eater like me but not sure for the vegetarians. Hey for the price you pay it’s ok and Masai Mara is a great park for animal lovers. We saw lots and lots of lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, wilder-beasts you name they are here and the landscape is so beautiful! Also the staffs here are very nice and helpful too like most in Kenya. If you want luxury go somewhere else and pay for it if you’re a budget traveler who just want things that is adequate for a 2 nights stay...
