Good for One-night Transitory Stay! A group of 9 of us, During our visit to Kenya, stayed at “67 Airport Hotel” for two nights, on 16th Sep 2018 on arrival and again on 21st Sep 2018 prior to departure. Although the hotel is only 7 km from the airport, travel time between the airport and the hotel was about 30 minutes. My wife and I were allocated rooms 013 (ground floor) on 16/09 and 114 (first floor) on 21/09. Reception was courteous and efficient. The staff were attentive and polite. The Luggage was delivered to our rooms on arrival and collected when departing. Rooms and toilets were clean and so were the bedsheets and towels. The rooms included a TV, writing desk with chair, kettle with tea/coffee sachets, bath soap, conditioner, shampoo etc and hot water on tap. There was an open closet where one could leave your clothes and small parcels. There were no air conditioning, overhead fan, refrigerator, hair drier nor a safe for storage of valuables. Air-conditioning did not matter as the climate was quite cool. Wi-Fi was weak inside the rooms but adequate close to the reception. The beds were covered in the evenings with a mosquito net hanging vertically downwards from all around the bed. This makes for a comfortable sleep. All in all, it is an oldish hotel with oldish furnishings. In both rooms, water from the shower area leaked into the rest of the toilet area. I used one of the towels to mop up the water. Visitors should keep the windows closed to prevent mosquito entry as there is Malaria in Nairobi. WE COMMENCED A COURSE OF MALARIA PREVENTIVE MEDICATION BEFORE TRAVELLING TO KENYA AS ADVISED. There are no restaurants close by. Visitors therefore have no choice but to eat at the hotel restaurant, just outside the main entrance named “cockpit restaurant”. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here during our stay here. The kitchen is open and clean. The food included both African as well as western cuisine. At times there was a buffet service. You could also order your choice selected from the menu. The service was good. There is a swimming pool too, just a little distance away from the main hotel. All in all, it was an average experience good for a one-night...
Read moreI wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. We usually stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, but I decided to give a cheaper hotel a try after I read the reviews. Indeed, you get what you pay for. I booked a room with a courtyard view. When we checked in, not one was available. The size and condition of the first room we were given left a great deal to be desired. We checked back at reception later in the day, and we were able to get the only room with a balcony available after my husband insisted the preference on the reservation be honored. It was better than the previous room, but less than ideal—with an uncomfortable bed, well worn linens, and limited channels on a television where the picture quality was fuzzy. The next day, we went to breakfast a few minutes after it began, and neither the food nor coffee was hot. The early morning staff also seemed lackluster and unmotivated—not welcoming in the least. On the bright side, Antony, the driver who picked us up from the airport when we arrived was great, and the friendly porter who helped with our bags and made sure we were situated once in the rooms made the stay better. The housekeeper also gave us more coffee when requested without a fuss. We appreciated this because in hotels that have less to offer and room for much improvement, it’s the little things that make the...
