I am really happy to be writing this review! Alliance Hotels were the first places I stayed at in Diani, and are somewhat of a 'spiritual' home for me. I was gutted when they closed, and really please that Safari Beach is back, and a rising star once again! It seems the management (with many decades of Hotel experience), are reshaping this facility to have more of a modern 'boutique' feel, as evidenced in the new fishing club building, bar & restaurant. This is exciting, as many big behemoth Hotels (with this used to be... kind of), are either unable, or unwilling to keep up with modern trends. Onto my visit... with around 60 teenagers in tow on a School trip. I found the service to be first class all the way. A highly attentive team of good communicators, meant our needs were met, and issues (as always crop up with a group of that size and nature) dealt with swiftly, and decisively. Were there a few things that needed polishing... sure! But when you've been on a slow down for a good few years, then get hit with a pandemic, there will be. Am I confident these will be addressed and remedied? Very much so. If you are looking for a hotel that isn't overwhelmed by the TUI brigade, is in a prime position, and have everything you will need, then Safari...
Read moreWe booked 6 days over christmas / new year. A family with kids. On first day, we were told buffet dinner by 9pm. We went to dinner 8.30 to be told no buffet, to book. We booked. Food arrived past 10pm, kids were already fast asleep after driving 600km to this place. All through food was terrible & not fresh. No buffet dinners as promised when booking. New yrs eve, loud non friendly music & activities started, and a notice for access to hotel posted at entrance for only over 21yrs. My kids all, under 21 were kicked out of the restaurant / beach area. We were thus confined to our room all through the new yr night, very loud inappropriate music. Can imagine trying to contain kids in a room when all they want is to go to the beach. All these lasted till following day, with xrated scenes & language all round. We didnt sleep. My little one asked.. "when is all this gonna stop".. we drove back the following day, new year another 600km not having slept at all, tired, hungry... instead of refreshed after a holiday. Ps. Even access to beach was cordonned off. My kids juz wanted to visit the beach... fireworks cordoned off... they juz wanted to see.. for a family, it was...
Read moreFriendly staff - very helpful, and went out of their way to check each guest is happy and comfortable.
The rooms with aircon are certainly comfortable. The extras made our packing easier, and our atay more comfortable - daily replenishment of beach towels, coffee tea and water.. As well as toiletries, bath towels, slippers and kettle.
A lovely pool close to the beach so you can take a dip before or after.
All the rooms are garden rooms, which allows the whole beach front to be enjoyed on loungers or while sitting at the restaurant.
The buffet breakfast offered a daily variety of cooked kenyan delicacies and local fresh fruits in abundance, as well as internationally well-loved breakfast items like eggs, omlettes, sausage, baked beans, croissants, muffins, pancakes, waffles, coffees and teas, fresh fruit juice etc.
It was very easy to enjoy surroundig activities by booking at the hotel front desk.
There are many, many resorts along the coast. I would say that Safari Beach Hotel is clean, comfortable, friendly, affordable and a location to die for so we would...
