I recently stayed at Sofia International Hotel in Bishkek, and my experience was overall excellent. The hotel is centrally located, and rooms on one side offer spectacular views of the frozen, glaciered mountains, creating a serene atmosphere.
Accommodation options range from smaller, comfortable rooms to deluxe rooms equipped with bathtubs and office workstations, catering to different guest needs. Although breakfast had a good selection, it didn't seem to be inclusive, which was a minor inconvenience.
Staff at the hotel respond swiftly to calls and queries. However, language barriers were noticeable; some staff appeared unwelcoming or uncomfortable due to difficulties communicating in English.
The room cleaning service deserves special mention. Available on demand 24 hours a day, you simply switch on the cleaning request near the door whenever you leave. Housekeeping promptly cleans the room, makes the bed, replenishes supplies, changes towels, and refills water bottles. They generously provided more than the standard 2 liters daily without prompting.
One drawback was the absence of room service for meals. Nevertheless, this was mitigated by the convenience of food delivery apps, which deliver directly to the room doorsteps. Additionally, having a Korean restaurant conveniently located on the 15th floor proved handy when needed.
A slight inconvenience was the elevators, which frequently seemed busy.

While the room itself was spacious, my overall stay at Sofia International was underwhelming for a supposed 5-star hotel. The service fell short on several occasions: No assistance with luggage upon check-in Unresponsive phone in the room, forced to use WhatsApp for communication Delayed housekeeping service and slow response to requests 3-hour wait to order in-room dining due to lack of responsiveness Limited amenities (no spa, gym, or pool) Below-average breakfast service with a long wait time for eggs Uncleaned tables at breakfast restaurant
While the room size was nice, the bathroom was small, and the AC and internet connectivity...

The staff were consistently helpful and friendly. The restaurant offered a great variety of dishes to choose from, making every meal enjoyable. The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking view of the snow-capped mountains from the front of the hotel.
I also want to give a special thanks to the Sales Director at Sofia. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly enhanced our experience. We felt well taken care of, and their dedication made our stay even more memorable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend...
