Hotel Erfolg — Hotel in Daugavpils

The experience of booking was terrible, the hotel sells more rooms than it has, absolute and utter incompetence. The room were booked via booking portal, the property said that the booking was not paid for. After the proof was sent by email, that the room is paid for we received a call, in arrogant tone, that the room was not paid for and sold to another customer. Multiple calls did not help, as they said they would look into it and call back, instead, they just cancelled the reservation via booking portal. No apology for the stress caused, not even an attempt to mediate and rude all the time on the phone, ignoring all the emails. Obviously not capable to check if the money has been transferred. With such business manners one should not even be selling hot dogs, let alone rooms... Avoide...

As I needed a budget accommodation place for a longer period, so choosed Erfolg due to offered price.||Hotel is located not in the very centre, just need to walk some 15 min, but from my view it was good. Important also there is a parking in front of the hotel.||There is no actual reception, but all the things are very well organized by call and WiFi. I liked that small electronic key attachable to my car keys, so easy any time to get inside hotel and into room. As a single woman I felt safe there. Owner is responsive for any guest question. ||I used a room with shared bathroom and toilet. Bed was comfortable, linen and towel clean, hot water in shower possible. Works for the absolute minimum when you really need a place to stay in. We were at loss on the front door with no clear instructions until we found what button to push. The remote reception finally managed to give us instructions about how to get a key in broken English with a lot Russian mixed in.

The hotel is in an aged apartment building, and the room is very crude without any chairs, a broken hairdryer, a very uncomfortable bed, no soap, etc. Given the general vibe and based on some other reviews, I didn't feel very safe for myself or for my car parked nearby, but nothing bad happened.
