We liked the pleasantly eccentric decor, large rooms and comfort and also that there was a lot of choice on the breakfast menu.||||What we did not like however was that we had several encounters with a particularly unfriendly and unhelpful member of staff the worst of which was as follows. We decided to eat in the restaurant on our first night and initially chose a table for three outside but unfortunately the connection at the top of the table was extremely wobbly (wine all over the place wobbly!) and we could not wedge it so we decided to move to a slightly larger table. Almost instantly, this member of staff pounced on us and stated, 'you can not sit as this table as it is for five and you are only three.' Another member of staff joined in too. We explained about the wobbly table but they insisted (quite rudely - almost humiliatingly) that we move and without any apology. There were no more tables outside so we had to sit inside - where we had to wait a further fifteen minutes to place our order. When we returned to look at the table outside that we have been excluded from, there were just two people sitting there.||||The same member of staff also kept us waiting at reception upon arrival for at least five minutes with no greeting while she completed a phone call. There were other members of staff around and nobody greeted us.||||I would also question the hotel's inclination to be helpful to tourists' needs. We had decided to ditch the hire car and take the bus into Kaunas. When we asked this member of staff for details about taking the bus, she just about managed to tell us it was bus number five an waved vaguely to outside (we actually got on the bus on the wrong side of the road and paid before the bus driver made us realise we needed to go to the bus station across the road).||||I suspect these incidents might have happened because we were in scruffy travel clothes. The sophistication to treat all paying guests with respect might have passed this hotel by.||||Thankfully, other members of staff were...
Read moreI stayed here for three nights in September 2017 because I was visiting a friend that was already in the country. I arrived on a late flight which landed at 11pm local time (GMT+2) and had difficulty getting a taxi - thankfully a helpful individual that spoke Lithuanian managed to find me a taxi and I was on my way.||When I arrived at the hotel the door was opened and I was greeted by a smile and a welcome from reception - at this time it was nearly midnight and I thought I would be lucky to even get into the hotel let alone be greeted warmly. Thankfully all those fears were for naught and from that point on I only have positive things to say about both the hotel and its staff.||The food was beyond incredible both reasonably priced and excellent tasting. The hotel is also generous enough to offer their full restaurant menu as room service (when you request the menu) which suited me as the restaurant was generally always busy, I can see why, whereas I just wanted to relax in bed and be lazy. ||The room itself was spotless, the beds very comfortable with enough pillows, and the bathroom was gleaming without a single fingerprint on any tile or surface I could see. You can get more pillows on request as detailed in the in-room welcome pack as well as towels, if you'd like.||I would recommend Pazaislis Park to anyone that wasn't sure if they wanted to explore a city or just laze in bed, it offers both options equally. The room I was in (suite) had a SmartTV and Netflix with excellent wifi too - so I was more than happy to cuddle up and get through some Netflix bingeing. There are bus tops nearby as well as taxies which can be ordered from reception to take you into the heart of Kaunas which is about 20-minutes away costing...
Read moreIn short: Rooms and linens are clean. Bed is very comfortable, though not for these who like larger pillows. Service was very nice, breakfast (on order) was excellent. In general, room was comfortable enough, though one cannot call the décor other than ostentatious. Actually, all the time when staying, I had an impression that the place was designated for clandestine lover meetings if not something more out of the line. The impression was very much strengthened by the glass (not matt!) doors into the bathroom and a window (!) looking directly from the room into the shower. As I was staying alone, it was just funny, but I suppose that even for most of couples, it would have been inconvenient (unless they were...
