Our first little break since the start of covid, so we were excited to get away for a few days, although as a rule we never go anywhere in July and August, but we needed a break. Arrival at the hotel was "cool". But I think we arrived at a bad moment. The lady spoke very good Flemish, which was nice, but our first feeling was.....rather unfriendly. Later we went to the bar for a before dinner drink, and were speaking English (Being one Belgian and one English, we speak a mix of the two languages) Then the lady became friendly, and helpful, it was quite strange, but from then onwards she was friendly and lovely. so we either arrived at a bad moment, or of course the covid rules must be very stressful for the owner to make sure everything is done as it should be, not easy I think.||we had a lovely room, room 16, spacious, and a lovely big balcony. the loo was a but small, at 5* 1" my knees were at the door, and my husband had to leave the door open, but that is really not a problem, the room was really nice. Lovely location, lovely view, the food in the restaurant was excellent. So first impressions are not always right. It was a most enjoyable stay and we would certainly return again.||I feel it can't be easy for staff with the covid rules, they must get fed up with checking that everything is done correctly, so well done to them all for...
Read moreIt seemed a shame to break the tranquility by starting up a V twin when it was time to leave in the morning. The bike had a safe night in a locked garage. There is garage space for each room. My single room was adequate for a restful sleep and opening the curtains gave great views over the countryside to the village of Berdorf which is about a 10 minute walk away. Twin rooms, some with balconies, have views over the wooded valley where there are many hiking trails. Some trails lead down to the Our River below, but I enjoyed the twisties in the Our and Moselle valleys as I took the short scenic trip in from the German border near Trieste. ||Evening meal included in my half board rate was OK and breakfast was also reasonable. Both were served in a dining room with views over countryside and woodland. The peaceful terrace was good for a sunset drink and the wifi was good enough to catch up on emails while sat outside with a beer from the reasonably priced bar.||Everything was clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. All was peaceful and relaxing, until the V twin started in the morning and it was time for another adrenaline rush on the excellent bikers...
