The worst accomodation ever , after spending 3 weeks in Madagascar . Chez Maggie was the only place I was asked to pay in advance for the whole staying via PayPal ( no taxes paid I guess). We arrived around 7 pm, I had to fill in a form standing by a bar counter , in dark, facing a lady who was just silent ( no information at all ). Nobody helped either the luggage, 3 employees were there but didn’t move ( I think the only place we experienced in the whole island ). We were taken to a super hot dark room with cockroaches running through the room and more dead in the shower and in the water buckets. I asked for another room and we got an even worse one by the restaurant: fan noisy as an elicopter , AC NOT WORKING ( nobody advised about the city daily night power cut) and we couldn’t open one single window because the apartment is a subterranean one and there is no protection ( the place is by a huge beach ). We couldn’t sleep because it was like an OVEN. I showered with no water , just a leaking half working faucet because of LIME. We found the place a very run down property . Thanks god we left after a night and returning morondava we booked just next door at Kiley house ( a paradise ). WiFi didn’t work AT ALL. I spoke the following day with the manager in charge and they felt sorry and gs e us the continental breakfast for free. I must say we booked the room , not the bungalow ( which are more expensive and I hope better). I wrote an email to the general booking manager and after a week still no answer . A very frustrating...
Read moreChez Maggie's is an incredible place to stay, eat, and relax in Morondava. We stayed twice, and the experience was consistently amazing.
Bungalows are great. Good electricity and hot water availability. Beds are comfortable and with nets.
Pool is very well maintained, and no need to worry about Portuguese Man o' Wars. Small beach weightlifting area, too. :-)
The real star is the restaurant, though. Seafood romazava, soupe chinoise, grilled chicken, French fries, omelette, shrimp in sauce coco with rice were all superb. Keep the rum drinks and fresh juice coming all day. And service was fast and friendly. I want to take this place...

Fantastic restaurant with amazing bbq & seafood dishes. Located right on the beach, and there's also a swimming pool, but all the water is warm as a bathtub. Friendly English speaking staff helps you book day excursions, and Remote River Expeditions operates out of here, for longer adventures. Walking distance to town. Perfect base for your western...
