Highway Inn — Hotel in Borneo

This hotel provides basic amenities for guests who seek a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. However, during my recent stay at Highway Inn, I was left with a disappointing experience. The hotel was very smelly, the floor was sticky and unclean, and the water pressure was not consistent when using the shower.

As soon as I entered my room, I was hit with an unpleasant smell that lingered throughout my stay. The odor was a mix of cigarette smoke, old fabrics, and dampness. The air conditioner seemed to circulate it throughout the room, and there was nothing I could do to get rid of it. It made sleeping especially challenging and affected my overall experience.

The second issue I encountered was the cleanliness of the room. The floor was sticky, and it felt as though it had not been clean or mop properly. I had to wear slippers throughout my stay to avoid stepping on the sticky floor.

Finally, the water pressure in the shower was not consistent, making it difficult to take a proper shower. It would fluctuate between being too weak and too strong, which was uncomfortable and made it hard to rinse off soap and shampoo. This was frustrating, and I found myself taking longer showers than usual.

In summary, my experience at Highway Inn was not pleasant. While the hotel provides basic amenities and is reasonably priced, the smell in the room was unbearable, the floor was unclean, and the water pressure in the shower was not consistent. I do not recommend staying at this hotel, especially for anyone who is sensitive to odors and prefers clean...

If you're just thinking to save a few bucks might as well choose somewhere else and pay rm100 than staying here. At least you'll get to sleep and use the toilet comfortably. Entering the hallway already have some weird smell (bau hapak covered by disinfectant maybe) The room was spacious but so gloomy. Lights at the door can't be switched on. Bed lamp also doesnt function. The door lock basically doesn't work. Only lock using 1 key. The toilet was disgusting. Tiles were dirty and moldy. The ceiling as well. Water pressure wasn't stable and the water heater was so loud like engine rumput for some weird reason. The room had weird smell and the pillows and mattress stink. Had to open up the window cause cannot stand the smell. The mattress sheet and blanket in my opinion were not clean cause i was scratching all night. Can hear the sound of cockroach at night. The table in room also looked like it's gonna break anytime. Agoda pictures of the beds and toilet looked clean but i guess that's only for that 1 room. The floor is also sticky and slippery as if no one mopped the floor.

I'm initially not a picky person but this is by far 1 of the worst...

the room is okay but the blanket and bed are not really clean. There are still got some stains, and even worse some stains are look like blood stains. The worse part is the toilet. The toilet is dirty and moldy, plus the water pressure is not consistent. The partition curtain of the toilet is dirty, and i feel disgusted whenever my skin touch it. For the prices, it is affordable and i can't complain much as it is a low budget hotel. But, if you got an extra money, better consider other places to stay. The staff...
