The only bad thing here is the location, especially if you don’t drive. We stayed here in mid April 2022 and it was SO DIFFICULT to call a Grab car. You will need to download an app call Maxim which means paying a lot higher (MYR 11 for a 5-min ride cos the driver was coming from the town) and also longer waiting time for the car to reach the resort. Otherwise, the room is great, food is awesome, we had nice showers and they even have proper hiking trail with stairs just behind the resort! You can even spot flying squirrels 🐿 5-6pm everyday just outside the dining area. They also have a big pool, such regrets we forgot our swimsuits. Will only recommend if you’re driving or has a driver with schedules.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel : it is in a lovely location, the staff is really super friendly and food was good. But the hotel itself is, in my opinion, truly ugly, especially when you take into consideration that it is brand new. Everything is cement, metal and plastic, so it is quite sad that there is absolutely no use of wood. It totally lacks of any charm in general (whereas the others hôtels of SI Tours are really nice), and the rooms themselves are spacious, clean and confortable but again, they have mostly plywood furnitures that seem totally outdated.

A very cozy resort located in Sepilok. The environment very calm and relaxing. Deep inside the jungle. The place is clean, neat and not too crowded. Feel exclusive. Room is spacious and elegant with balcony facing the jungle. There is a boardwalk into the jungle where you can see lots of birds, and if you are lucky you can see orang utan in the wild and hornbill, not one but three. Food is delicious and resoanablly price. Staff very friendly.

I visited the My Nature Resort with my daughter, who is studying zoology in the United Kingdom at Sheffield University. We booked the hotel independently through SI Tours and Yvonne was amazingly helpful sorting out bank transfers and suggesting itineraries that might suit our needs. She was amazingly patient with us because we had a lot of questions and we were also a little bit nervous about booking independently as obviously you do have to take a leap of faith when you book on the Internet and have to send cash overseas. We had absolutely no need to worry though. All the payments went smoothly and we made our own way to Sandakan where we were met at the airport by a very friendly representative in a lovely air conditioned mini bus. From then on our whole trip with SI Tours went like a dream. The My Nature Resort hotel was beautiful. The hotel is peaceful and surrounded by nature which is exactly what we wanted. Orang Utans are often seen in the area and there are colourful hornbills in the surrounding forest and lots of very colourful birds. You also have an opportunity to see the flying squirrels which are wild but resident in the trees around the dining area. There is a viewing platform where you can see the squirrels flying from tree to tree most evenings at dusk. There is a lovely swimming pool and there are lots of macaques around we loved the fact that we had a little bamboo monkey stick in our room which we carried around the Resort. Not to hit the monkeys of course just to rattle the stick on the fence to make some noise should the monkeys come too close for comfort. We had no problems though it was great to have a close up look at these magnificent and very cheeky monkeys. We went from the My Nature Resort on a two centre trip up the Kinabatangan River staying at the two hotels that SI Tours manage in that area. Both the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge and the Abai Jungle lodge were perfect for our needs. Our guide for the whole trip Abbas was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and the history of the area and he really did have eyes like a hawk. He really went put of his way to make sure we had the best time possible and that we saw as much wildlife as possible. He really was fantastic and so asset to SI Tours. In fact all the guides we met were very kind and friendly as were all the staff at all the places we stayed at during our trip. The whole trip was very well organised and I cannot speak highly enough about SI Tours or any of their hotels. I did get chance to meet Yvonne the lady I had been arranging everything with between the UK and the office in Borneo. It was a pleasure to meet her and thank her for all the help and reassurance she gave us during the booking process. She is a lovely lady and i was really pleased i got chance to thank her. I would say if you are thinking of heading to Borneo and are considering booking with SI Tours then do not hesitate. Whilst we were there they fed us lots of lovely food and arranged trips to the orang utan sanctuary and the sun bear sanctuary and we also spent some time independently doing several walks with our binoculars in the nearby Rainforest Discovery Centre. We saw loads of wildlife there too before we even started on our river trip. The whole experience with SI Tours was amazing from start to finish. I only hope that I get chance to visit there again one day. If I do I will make sure I book more free time between the trips at the My Nature Resort as I think it would be a lovely base to spend a few days just chilling out and soaking up the surrounding rainforest and using the pool. Thank you to Yvonne and SI tours for making our trip an enjoyable and memorable one. We hope to see you...

The MY Nature Resort is a great place to start your Borneo adventure tour or to get a small taste of what this area has to offer. It is part of SI Tours of Borneo and the nicest of the rooms. We stayed for one night at the start of our 8-day adventure. From here we went on to two other lodges on the Kinabatangan river. From this resort you can walk or shuttle to the Rainforest Discovery Center (650 m/.4 miles). They have a shuttle; but we missed the last time, so we walked. The grounds were gorgeous with flowers and plants. They have a very nice pool which is great due to the heat. The rooms had A/C and were comfortable. They are cabin-like (Borneo resort – not US resort). At sunset they have a flying squirrel watching event which was fun as they know where some of the nests are so it is highly likely you will see one. It’s magical to watch them “fly” across the sky. We also saw macaques. In addition, we did the night walk on a walkway around the resort. Much of this walk is uphill (stairs) so be prepared. They provide torches (flashlights) in the rooms, but we had headlamps which helped as the walkway has no lighting. They also provide walking sticks which they recommend you use when walking around the resort as the macaques may be aggressive. I recommend you bring this on the night walk if you need one for the stairs. We didn’t encounter any issues with the monkeys here or anywhere in Borneo but apparently it is common. On our walk to the Discovery Center we saw our first macaques and hornbills. On our night walk, we saw several insects and a greater mouse deer. The staff were very nice and the food was fine. You will be asked to pay a tourism tax per person in MYR cash when you arrive (RM10.00 per room per night). This will happen at each place you stay. You can buy alcohol here for an additional fee. We paid for our tips and alcohol in MYR cash. They have a minimal spend to use a credit card. My recommendation is to bring MYR cash, binoculars, a camera, insect repellent, sunscreen, rain jacket or poncho, good walking shoes, and lightweight clothing as you will sweat profusely. This resort is also very close to the Sepilok Orangutan Centre and Sun Bear Conservation Center. This is a good...
