2nights Spent at Sepilok B&B and we enjoyed our stay. Staff were welcoming on arrival and explained where our Chalet would be plus other details, all fine. I was expecting much with the room and aware it would be basic but for 2nights absolutely fine. We stayed in A1, hot shower with no issue and WiFi worked well, fan and A/C however A/C little bit noisy when trying to sleep, but it’s fine earplugs! Not that we needed it or used it but there was a TV with prime + Netflix wasn’t expecting that but ok. Property had a good lunch/dinner menu which was actually very good, we really liked the Roti Canai + fried Veg rice, so yeah pretty decent food. However I would say breakfast was not my favourite, maybe could do with some work on that- bit disappointing but did the job I guess. Drinks + snacks available on site, little bit more in price than usual but still pretty cheap. We stayed here mainly for the Orangutan rehabilitation centre as we wanted to be able to walk there, and yeah 20minute walk each way was perfect. So very happy with the location as it was based on that. Overall we left feeling satisfied and had no issues, I would recommend to stay here for the reasons I gave. The place was quite busy during my stay many, we felt safe. Just remind you it’s basic accommodation little wear and tear but clean and comfortable stay.

The location is great for Rainforest Discovery Centre (walkable) and it’s a short Grabcar ride to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuary. The room was clean but the surrounding was not great, felt and looked like a recently abandoned lodge. Service wasn’t great; we booked a car to pick us up from the airport and it didn’t turn up (the charge was RM50, could have taken a Grab for nearly half the price) then we were asked to order dinner so that the kitchen can prep but when we turn up for the meal, we’re told that we had to wait because they have to cater to a film production crews first and the food were overpriced and not good, it’s the same with the breakfast (bananas were the only good delicious item on the buffet). Overrated and overpriced for what they offered in my opinion. Didn’t even want to take photos to remember the place.

I had a good 1 night stay in the dormitory room. Quiet AC and decently clean room. Breakfast is included, it isn't great but it was appreciated. The dinner menu has some great food actually, I ordered the Prawn sambal and it was really tasty. One idea for management is to implement a shoes off policy when entering the housing buildings, it would keep the area way cleaner and make less work for the staff. The bathroom didn't get touched while I was there but it was decently clean, toilet was starting to smell though. The location can't be beat really, close to RDC and a 20 minute walk to Sepilok rehab centre. Overall a good stay and I would stay again in the future.

Food Had the stir fry with chicken. Only four pieces of chicken and the sauce tasted like it was from a jar. Very sweet and not well balanced for a country’s traditional meal.

Bed Not great. Imagine the firmest mattress possible. Pillows were flat too.

Air con It does work but you have to keep the fan off. It’s just ok.

Bathroom Shower is electric and does the job. There were loads of bugs in there all the time. We had to spray it to keep them down. It’s very dated and you can’t tell if it’s a bug or dirt on the wall.

Noise Not quiet at night because of the animals, you are in the jungle so keep that in mind but there is almost no noise cancelling on the walls and windows.

WiFi Really good no issues at all. Streaming movies no problem.

Staff The main guy who picked us up was really nice and chatty and gave us some advice about where to go to see things. Good general convo. The staff at the main b and b were fine.

Overall room quality Poor. It’s very dated, looks old, dirty walls, poor bed, bugs are everywhere in the room. We had a really bad first night because bugs kept getting in. There are holes in the walls and under the door so you have to cover these. There is no mosquito net for the bed. The towels were very old and rough.

Location It’s walking distance to the amazing RDC rainforest which you must visit. It’s a 25min drive to the bear (not good) sanctuary and the orangutan (good).

Does the price match the quality? We’ve stayed in better for the same price. The room is cheap but there are some problems here that...

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Sepilok B&B! The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from both the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Rainforest Discovery Centre, making it perfect for exploring the rich wildlife and beautiful surroundings. It was so convenient to have these attractions right on our doorstep.||||The room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped, providing a comfortable haven after a long day of jungle adventures. We especially appreciated how quiet and peaceful the setting was, allowing us to relax and recharge. The grounds are lovely, and you feel fully immersed in nature.||||The staff at Sepilok B&B truly made our stay memorable. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with recommendations for things to do and places to see in the area. They made us feel very welcome and at home from the moment we arrived.||||The breakfast was also excellent, with a good mix of local dishes and Western options to suit all tastes. We looked forward to starting each day with a delicious meal before heading out to explore.||||Overall, Sepilok B&B exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're visiting Sepilok and want to be close to nature with a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, we highly recommend this B&B. We would love to stay here again...
