The Pavilion, Sandakan|Reception staff (JoJo) was friendly and polite. The entrance/lobby looked quite nice. We wish we had looked at the room before paying for it as it was appalling. We realised we'd made a huge mistake booking the room firstly when we got into the lift which smelt of cigarettes and was in dire need of a good clean and secondly when we got out of the lift and saw the state of the corridor carpet which was covered in stains. When we got into our room things did not improve. The room had a bad smell to it. The floor wasn't very clean. The headboard had stains on it. The pillows smelt of sweat. There were marks on the not so white sheets. There was a door in our room that joined the room next door!! This was unlocked and there was no way for us to lock it so we jammed a chair under the handle. We were thankful that we had only booked the one night. Breakfast was basic. We were glad to be moving on. This hotel is not cheap in comparison to some of the other hotels. The following night we booked into the Sabah Hotel which cost us only a fraction more but this hotel was beautiful in every single way. Book Sabah Hotel NOT The...

ROOM 102 (01–02 JUNE 2025)This was my first time staying at this hotel. Based on recommendations from social media friends, this hotel was said to be the best in the area. However, after staying here, I found the room to be quite ordinary. It is recommended that the hotel management consider renovating the room design to align with current interior design trends. To maintain guest comfort, there are several important aspects that the hotel management should improve:1. CLEANLINESS* Bathroom tiles are moldy and have an unpleasant odor.* Exhaust fan is dusty.* Toilet window frame is dusty.* Window glass has smudge marks.2. FACILITIES* The air conditioner is very noisy and not sufficiently cold, even when set to a very low temperature.* Curtain railing is not well-maintained; the room remains bright even when the curtains are closed.* No bidet hose provided.* The restaurant during breakfast is quite cramped despite a large number of guests.* No iron and ironing board provided in the guest room.* Peephole does not have a cover.HIGHLIGHTS1. A safety box is provided.2. Coffee amenities are available.3. Fast...

  1. we check in the room at night about 9pm, the lighting bulb was not function, i called the reception and technician is prompt came and changed it.2)then i found no slipper, i called and they delivered.3) after bath, i found that there was no hair dryer, i called again and they delivered.4) i felt so bad already, and i have to call again, because the air-cond compressor soooooo noisy, until we can not stand on it, i called the reception the 4th time. Finally the technician came. He confirmed the compressor was something wrong, they changed us to another room.Thank you for their service.5) at the other room, everything ok, until the next day morning, we found the toilet seems something wrong, after we flush, the water drained out very slow. Finally after the second night we stayed, the toilet confirmed is blockage, the waste can not drained out, and the water full.... we let the reception know about this when we checked out.A very good location, but all the furnishing seems need to refurbished and need proper...

I stayed at this hotel for the first time for a 3-day, 2-night business trip. Initially, I was assigned to Room 402, but unfortunately, the air conditioner was not working. I requested to change rooms, but was told by the staff that the hotel was fully booked and there were no available rooms. A technician was sent to repair the air conditioner, but even after several hours, the issue persisted and the room remained uncomfortably hot. Around 11 p.m., after struggling with the heat and lack of ventilation, I called the front desk again to raise my concerns. After further discussion, I was finally moved to Room 302 — which suggests that there was, in fact, a room available. The experience was frustrating, especially after a long day of work. I hope the management takes note and improves the handling of such situations in the future.

Very disappointed with the condition of the room. Morning sunlight enters too early as the curtains do not block light effectively. The bathroom was dirty, with visible mold and signs of poor cleaning. Hair and dust were found throughout the room, including under the bed and around the table. The shower had mold, the drain cover was loose, and there were sharp edges in the bathroom that could cause injury. At RM158, this room is overpriced — the design is outdated and the maintenance is poor. Management needs to take these issues seriously, carry out a full renovation, and ensure deep cleaning is done properly. Cleanliness, safety, and comfort should be basic standards, especially at this price.

Location – In the centre of Sandakan (Batu 7), near a clinic, restaurants, and convenience stores (walking distance). airport is around 7mins away Price – For a family room, it was affordable. Less than RM250 (as of 20/9/2025). Room – Not too spacious but can fit 4–5 adults. There was a connecting room available. There was a musty smell in the room and stains on the bed. Breakfast – They served two main dishes (rice and noodles), half-boiled eggs, coto, bread with butter, and potatoes. It's buffet-style. Not a wide variety, but definitely enough to fill your stomach. It starts at 6:30 AM and ends at 10:00 AM. Plenty of public parking Overall it was oky only because if the location
