Budget hotel in a shoplot, designed to cater for the travelling salesman and visiting extended family, but pretty decent by smaller town standards.||||Formerly the Miramar Hotel Mentakab, it's been given a nip/tuck and adopted into the Hotel Jelai budget chain. Rooms are surprisingly spacious, comes with free WiFi, a/c, bottled water, hot water shower, free newspaper in your language of choice & a very simple breakfast the next morning, it's got everything you need for a comfortable night's stay and at RM68 a night for a doublebed room, it's good bang for your buck. Cheap grub & beer also available at the restaurants across the street.||||Some minor irritations: interruption to water supply which apparently is not uncommon, ants in the bathroom. Also, do note it's a walk-up hotel (stairs only) with just off-road parking but I doubt other hotels in the area...

Checking into the hotel with a long face malay fat woman (bertudung) was one thing, complaint about the shower tap water, she replied with rude behaviour. We have no problem with other staff as they handled our problems efficiently. Rude behaviour is one problem under service line.
