Kebun Rimba Private Estate — Hotel in Pahang

Had an awesome time here, what a unique experience. Only about an hour away from KL, good paved roads all the way, just a bit steep at the end but nothing too tricky. The grounds are huge—definitely stay a couple of nights if you can. There’s enough to keep you busy, like trekking to a waterfall (caretaker said it was an hour away by foot), horse riding, and zooming around on ATVs.

The infinity pool is a real treat with views of Genting. Just note, it's a 3-min uphill walk from where you grab breakfast. I stayed in Rumah Kedah, a beautiful traditional two-bedroom house with a grill for BBQs and a kitchen with a proper fridge.

When you get there, they welcome you with drinks and a refreshing cold towel, and they even come by at night with insect repellent, which is super thoughtful. For meals, you can get the kitchen to whip up something simple, or you can go to some decent restaurants just five minutes away by car.

There’s also a cute little lake and a pine tree trail to explore if you just wanna wander around. Phone signal is good, but no WiFi, which honestly helps you disconnect and soak up the peace and quiet.

Good water pressure in the toilets, and shower had hot & cold water.

Areas of improvement:

There are no ceiling fans/ aircond units in the villas- only stand fans. It rained half the day during my stay so the weather wasn't too warm, though.

Also, this place is huge, and some areas may have beeen overlooked. There are some corners in the villa that could use a little bit of extra cleaning, and the infinity pool isn't the cleanest (with leaves etc.).

Tldr; Loved it here, beautiful grounds & villas and would totally recommend it for a quick getaway from the city. Good amenities but no ceiling fan/ a/c. Plenty of activities to do. Can’t wait...

My husband and I were truly honored to have our wedding festivities at Kebun Rimba couple of weeks ago. This is a hidden gem that offers unparalleled view/access to nature which was very important to us during our nuptials, unique architecture and history preserved and a staff with great commitment to stellar service. It was a treat in every aspect. Thank you for adding deep meaning to our ceremony!

We booked this wonderful place for 2 nights and had events on both days. The venue also comfortably hosted 40 of us. Mr.Zhenia was truly a remarkable host right from the get go. We viewed close to 6 venues in Janda Baik but nothing came close to what Kebun Rimba offered us. It’s truly one of a kind and the staff is the cherry on top of the icing. Huge shoutout to the Kebun Rimba team who helped us with parking logistics (Mr.Zhenia was there on scene too and we can’t be more thankful), cleaning up after our events, provided umbrellas in real time when it poured in the evening, ensured we were well fed and hydrated and hosted us with a big smile regardless of the request. Thein was also an excellent host looking after us throughout.

Lovely get away from KL concrete city & be transported to absolute greenery. Fresh air with Nature’s Symphony Orchestra playing Free Of Charge 24/7. But, we did bring a mini Ghetto Blaster playing non stop music. It’s amazing what volume a small Sonos loud speaker can pack in nature! We could leave Sonos by the pool & be entertained in the Dinining Room. Please note that we were the only Group that day & had booked the entire Villa.

We had local for Lunch, BBQ for Dinner & local for Breakfast. We wished we’d ordered local for 2nd Lunch though.

Recommended: Infinity Pool Walk / Hike up to the Waterfalls - payable extra For Guide & Permit (?).

It rained heavily the night b4 & we knew that, that would mean the likelihood of being bitten by a leech or leeches would b 100%. Just whom?

We didn’t come equipped. We were in Shorts, flip flops …. We did the best that we could with mosquito patches, Essential Oils, Sanitizer & a can of Air Freshner. Would u believe it, one spray on the leech & it dislodged! Thanks to Kebun Rimba’s for this tip.
