Mandara Tree Villas — Hotel in Pahang

We had a booking at Echor Tree Villa Mandara in Dharamshala, but due to the red alert issued for Himachal Pradesh with warnings of extreme rainfall and high risk of landslides, we had to reconsider our travel plans for safety reasons.

Despite this being a genuine emergency and completely outside our control, the hotel staff showed absolutely no empathy or cooperation. We contacted them well in advance to request a rescheduling or any kind of adjustment to our booking. Instead of understanding or helping, we were met with rude behavior, dismissive responses, and a cold, unprofessional attitude.

Not once did they acknowledge the seriousness of the situation or show concern for guest safety. They were rigid with policies, refusing any flexibility or assistance even when it was a matter of natural calamity and official government alerts.

It’s disheartening to see such behavior from a hospitality provider. We were not asking for a refund—only a date change, and it would have cost them nothing to show some compassion. In times of crisis, the true character of a business is revealed, and sadly, this property failed to uphold even basic standards of guest care.

Would strongly advise against booking at Echor Tree Villa Mandara, especially if you’re traveling with family or expect even a minimum level of professionalism and empathy. There are far better properties in Himachal where guests are treated with kindness,...

Pros:

1. Cozy and strategic location, close to activity venues and mini mart
2. Wide and spacious, inside and outside
3. Water pressure good, air conditioning, ceiling fan functional, and have towel & body soap.
4. Have wifi and functioning well
5. The kitchen utilities are all well provided.
6. Have coway & microwave
7. BBQ facilities well provided
8. host quick to respond when called

Cons:

1. Lack of safety, there’s no gate and house lock does not really secure the safety
2. Lack of cleanliness. -the sofa has blood/chocolate stained. -towel a bit yellowish. -dirty carpet with lots of dust
3. Need to alert with broken switch, otherwise the house will blackout
4. there’s no villa signage before entering the alley
5. Tissue were not provided...

When the first time we arrived, the jungle view greet us and we entered the house. The looks was sooooo amazing. I can tell that the owner got a great taste in designing the house and decorating it.

Despite of the poor telco service up there, we manage to get ourselves enjoy the moment there by having bbq, watching tv, playing cards and many more. Just take a look at all the picture below.
