I applaud Swiss Garden for being so ambitious to compete for a 5 star status. Very far fetch. Firstly we booked the higher room category -Premium Deluxe Sea Facing King. The name sounded luxurious but it is probably the most dated looking resort I ever stayed in the past 5 years with my family. For RM800/night (RM600 room + 1 extra bed RM200 per night) the room quality is not at all to a 4 star standard, what more aiming for 5? Photo of the 'clean bedsheet' attached, evidently the sheets have been used for many years , even the mattresses feel old, musty, nothing of a 4 star (again, let's not even talk about trying to achieve 5 star)

The extra bed came looking worse than my maid's. Mattress is sunken as though I have paid this for my maid when it's for my child.

The bathroom is supposedly refurbished but doesnt look like they bothered to put any upgrade like it was in the 90s. The showerhead feels sad , the sink is pathetic it is even smaller than Japanese hotel lodges. And no rooms come fitted with bathtubs. Apart from tiles looking clean because it's new, nothing else justify for RM800/night .

I specifically asked for quiet room but the service staff proceeded to check me in the closest room to the elevator firedoor. We had to double confirm since the room offered was '301' and having been to many hotel i suspected that it is the first room on the floor. The service staff then changed my room to 2 doors away on 303 and honestly, not much difference was made. Pls read the previous reviews on the soundproofing, there is very little carpeting especially on the walkway of the corridors leading to the room..you can hear almost everybody walking past and DESPITE asking for a QUIET room they still put me in CONNECTING room with a family with BABY. we could hear the baby crying at midnight screaming like he/she had the worst holiday.

I set very low expectation on the view and the view still disappoints. Instead of sea facing as advertised it is more of a pool facing and in the morning you can hear kids screaming and shouting at the pool , which is clearly not what we paid for.

Breakfast was very average. Coffee was so bad , staffs only greet you but they do not serve you because they don't really know how to communicate with you if you have other request than getting the table. Offering was NOT 4 star, it's again 3 star at best. Please swiss garden management, do NOT advertise the hotel that's aiming for 5 star from the refurbishment. Expectations will be high and you will be getting alot more 1 star review from this.

At the pool, UNLIKE other hotels you are not allowed to charge your bill to the room. That being said, eventhough you are a paying guest, you are supposed to carry your card or e-wallet at all times ! The menu is also very sad, and they make things look more sad by giving disposable cutlery when you dine by the pool. Pool towels are supposed to be returned eventhough you are a paying guest and eventhough this place is a BEACH RESORT.

I have to also add that we were told that only 2 mineral water will be given per room per night. I argued for more as I have paid for the third guest in the room, it makes no sense to only get 2 500ml water bottles , what is this hotel? Budget lodging??

They also did not replenish my short towels and I had to call for housekeeping when we returned to the room at 12.30PM to find out the room was untouched ! Kids club requires everybody to wear socks. Again, this is a "beach resort" but they expect people to bring socks. No socks? Pay, it's not much at RM6 but everything about this hotel just doesn't seem right !

I could go endless with complaints and minus points for this hotel and honestly not sure where and why the 5 star reviews! I was contemplating between Hyatt and SG and i regretted not choosing the former . The only saviour is the beach but it's not private so you don't have to stay there to enjoy the beach.

Never again. Keyword: NOT 5 star, it's not...

Our stay at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Kuantan was truly satisfying. The resort is very family-friendly with complete facilities – kids pool, waterslide and kids club, which kept the children entertained. The location right by the private beach is clean and peaceful, perfect for a short family vacation.

I have no regrets choosing Swiss-Garden as the place to celebrate my children’s birthday. Special thanks to Mr. Am from the Reservation Department who was very helpful and fulfilled my request for a Strawberry Shortcake. The arrangement was well done and made the celebration even more meaningful.

I would also like to praise the breakfast selection – the menu changes every day, not just the usual nasi lemak. I was impressed to see dishes like Nasi Dagang and Nasi Minyak with Ayam Masak Merah, which are rarely found in 5-star hotels. The combination of local specialties with international cuisine gave a unique breakfast experience.

Another highlight was the bellman service – very quick to respond when I requested luggage pick-up from the room during check-out (and it wasn’t even peak hour). Their efficiency really made the process smooth and convenient.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and efficient whenever help was needed. Overall, it was a truly worthwhile stay and I highly recommend Swiss-Garden for families or anyone looking for a short getaway. InshaAllah, we look forward to repeating the...

I really wanted to give this hotel a 5 star rating. Us, a family of 3, look for hidden gems when it comes to beach resorts. Nice and isolated with a killer view at a reasonable budget. If the food makes you salivate and they set out a nice buffet, even better!

With this in mind we found a last minute deal on Swiss garden beach resort, kuantan. we booked the executive suit for one night and took the scenic drive on 29th Dec from KL to Kuantan.

The positives: The view: we adored the view from our room, the beach is practically isolated and lies literally at the lap of the hotel. The walk along the shores in the late afternoon was the highlight for us. You an also watch sunrise at the hotel faces east. The food: The dinner buffet was just the way we like it. Not too many items to cloud your mind, just enough and good quality ones to leave you full. We particularly liked the grill station where Grilled sate, lamb strips and shrimps were grilled to perfection. The location: GIven its kinda in the middle of nowhere and to get there the GPS will take you through nooks that you didnt think your car would fit into. But thats exactly what we like as a family: a location thats quiet, no malls nearby to disturb the peace with plenty of outdoor parking spaces to boot.

The negatives: Two staffs: It would be unfair to say staff were unfriendly in general as the guy who checked us in was wooden but polite. The nice lady at the restaurant counter was also helpful. Just two of the staff soured our experience somewhat and that really shows the importance of training and consistency of behavior in hospitality business: this waiter at the dinner buffet rudely said for family only when we wanted to sit outdoors (the garden terrace, their main restaurant has outdoor seating option with a nice view overlooking the pool). We offcourse were a family but didnt want to argue with him as he probably meant larger families (for some reason all outdoor tables were big, round ones with seating capacity of 8). The other one during checkout wanted to charge us almost 3 Ringgit when we asked for a water bottle for our drive back home. Not a huge amount but when the guest has forked out 1000+ in total cost to the hotel surely a water bottle should be handed over with complements from the hotel!

So, there you go. 2 stars taken away for two small incidents that could have been handled much better. But thats what the hospitality industry is, you live and die by the experience your staff provide. Overall I think the structure is there for this hotel to be regarded as a true peaceful getaway destination for beach lovers who love their privacy. If only they could train their staff...
