I paid an exorbitant price for a family room in this hotel tonight, much higher than I would for a similar room in Penang or Ipoh, hoping to get some first class or 5 star service. What a BIG disappointment and bad surprises I received. I checked in late, dropped my daughter together with 6 pieces of luggage at the front lobby while I proceeded to park my car (the car park is a long walking distance from the lobby). When I returned to the lobby after parking my car, my daughter was still there and no portal in sight, only the security guard was there staring at my daughter. Both of us managed to pull all those luggage up to the receptionist counter. After checking in, we were not told where our room was, after enguiry, only then I was told our room was in the other building. We again had to lug our luggage down and up the staircases to the other building. After waiting patiently for a few minutes in front of the lift, one of the hotel guest came and informed us that the lift was out of service. I immediately rushed back to the front counter and reported to the receptionist about the lift. I waited again for a few more minutes, by then I was tired and get very impatient. After few more minutes, the same security guard came and just pointed to us the staircase, without even the courtesy of helping us when he saw us struggling with the luggage climbing up the long staircase. When we reached the room, what a BIG disappointment. Expecting a cosy and nicely decorated room with some standard facilities befitting a five star hotel (at least the rate I paid was for a five star hotel room), I only manage to get a room the most, I would classify it NOT MORE than a 3 star. I am a regular traveller and have been staying not less than 100 hotel room nights per year prior to the MCO, this Casuarina Kuala Kangsar definitely disappoint me and my recommendation to ALL, if you can avoid this hotel,...
