I have to say the room view is indeed splendid; But sadly the hotel ammenities is lacking, first and foremost, the infinity Pool Swimming pool is not accessible; there is no fitness centre as well. There should be a guide on Places you Can walk around the Hotel and Hotel Entrance should be make more accessible to walk and integrates with all the nearby park, as it is a near miss because the Hotel is situated in such a position if integration with all the garden available the experience of the hotel could be more interesting. The morning buffet breakfast the food is good but the choices and variety selection is too limited; with no salad of the day; fresh bakery or Chinese Pau or Dim Sum for selections. The rooms amenities are also limited; there are no bath robs, bedroom slippers, or proper signature high quality shower gel or shampoo for the price you pay for, even the choices of mini bar is way too limited, only Coffee and Instant Tea and no Boh Gold Label Tea available, although the view is scenic, the room lags a lounge chair or sofa for you to enjoy a book while absorbing in the view after a day work. High Speed WiFi Network should be a must in the 21st Century when you need to work remotely, with the Hotel Guest network only providing 5Mbps up and Down downloading work files or online video conferencing is barely working resulted in requiring the use of your own Data Hotspot, neitherless to say the Business Centre to work is lock shut during working hours. Besides, although some staffs are way friendly, there is some who lack basic ettiques and required more training before handling the guest. Which is resulted is mis-communication, and everything there is FINE do hope for a better quality of services to result in the worth for money.

REVIEW of MATAHARI COFFEE HOUSE Drove all the way from Ipoh to Kuala Kangsar to experience having breakfast with a great view of Sungai Perak. To our disappointment, there was only one spot at the terrace with the best view, the rest of the tables at the terrace do not face the river. We decided to sit inside the coffee house since it was pretty hot and humid although we were there before 9am. Food was pretty basic. There were Nasi Lemak, Roti Jala + with Chicken Curry, Nasi Goreng, Kuey Teow Goreng, Mee Soup station, Omellete station, Sausages, Roasted Potato, Fruits ( Honey Dew and Watermelon ), Salad Bar, French Toast and Cereals ( 2 types ). Food spread was okay but the least they cud prepare is using better quality produce at the salad bar and the condiments of the noodle soup station as well as the cereal station. I took the Roti Jala unfortunately there was no more chicken in the curry. Asked the waitress about it, she told that they only serve the gravy. Huh ?! But the sign stated Chicken Curry. It was still early for it to be finished. So she went into the kitchen for my Chicken. Waited for about 15 mins for the cook to boil chicken flesh chunks to be added into the gravy. Nope, chicken curry doesn't taste good at all. Nasi Lemak pun so so saja. The only food we enjoyed is the Omellete, despite their limited add ons. Breakfast is RM30 per pax. Overall, we are pretty disappointed, taste and quality wise.

1st day we check in on 4th floor and the view is superb.. The view of the Perak river and the bridge that crosses it is quite beautiful. For me, privacy is also a given in this unit. So we continued to stay here and were given another room in the other block, its because we didn't book for 2 days then, so the second day's room only had a view of the paid pool in front of it and the room was kind of connected to another room so it was a little noisy with other guests' voices. In terms of free breakfast for two people and meals for me are just basic. It's delicious if you follow my taste even though there aren't many options. The disadvantage here is that the water pressure is not strong, sometimes there is almost no water all of a sudden. Also if it rains, guests are not allowed to use the internal path, so from the car park to the entrance guests have to wade through the rain within 100 meters.

I paid an exorbitant price for a family room in this hotel tonight, much higher than I would for a similar room in Penang or Ipoh, hoping to get some first class or 5 star service. What a BIG disappointment and bad surprises I received. I checked in late, dropped my daughter together with 6 pieces of luggage at the front lobby while I proceeded to park my car (the car park is a long walking distance from the lobby). When I returned to the lobby after parking my car, my daughter was still there and no portal in sight, only the security guard was there staring at my daughter. Both of us managed to pull all those luggage up to the receptionist counter. After checking in, we were not told where our room was, after enguiry, only then I was told our room was in the other building. We again had to lug our luggage down and up the staircases to the other building. After waiting patiently for a few minutes in front of the lift, one of the hotel guest came and informed us that the lift was out of service. I immediately rushed back to the front counter and reported to the receptionist about the lift. I waited again for a few more minutes, by then I was tired and get very impatient. After few more minutes, the same security guard came and just pointed to us the staircase, without even the courtesy of helping us when he saw us struggling with the luggage climbing up the long staircase. When we reached the room, what a BIG disappointment. Expecting a cosy and nicely decorated room with some standard facilities befitting a five star hotel (at least the rate I paid was for a five star hotel room), I only manage to get a room the most, I would classify it NOT MORE than a 3 star. I am a regular traveller and have been staying not less than 100 hotel room nights per year prior to the MCO, this Casuarina Kuala Kangsar definitely disappoint me and my recommendation to ALL, if you can avoid this hotel,...
