TL;DR: Used to be good, sadly not anymore.
I used to think of this place whenever I thought of Kuala Kangsar, as my father had fond memories here. I remember their quality, fish-filled Laksa with the perfect thickness and savoury taste, often referred to as the famous Laksa of Kuala Kangsar. It truly deserved that title back then. Unfortunately, all of that is in the past now. The food quality has been going downhill over the years as I occasionally return.
I just visited again, and I have to say, I’ve never been more disappointed with a bowl of laksa here where I longed for the taste I experienced as a kid about 10 years ago—how ironic. There was almost nothing in the laksa, and the cendol from Stall No. 8 was just a bowl of Gula Melaka soup with only a few strands of actual cendol, despite some reviewers recommending it, smh. I didn’t know it was possible to make cendol this bad. The stall uncle even gave us an angry, threatening look when we didn’t order his cendol upon sitting down in front of his stall. It’s sad to see this place become like this, stall owners who are more calculative and serve poor to below-average food. And let’s not even talk about the tiny portions of both the laksa and cendol 💀
I guess the only good thing that's left of this place now is the riverside view, which is the reason that this isn't a one...
Read moreSurprisingly variety of food vendors selling mouth watering meals, but the highlight here is laksa and cendol. Very tasty cendol but we only got to order modest looking laksa which taste similar to kl although we have asked the first stall to recommend the specialty there. Didnt see anyone eating laksa sarang here, not sure if any vendor served this menu or not. A bit dissappointing. Toilet is across the bridge which has steep stairs and only accessible by wheelchair if you drive from the other side of the dataran kuala kangsar all the way to the front of the toilet. About the toilet, altho being charged but had to pay extra for tissue and cleanliness can still be improved. Hard to find parking and tend to get congested around food...
Read moreBought ais kacang and cendol last week which was added with red beans. Sadly to say, some of the red beans was stale in both the items.Today, went to buy again and also the main reason to tell the seller.Unfortunately, he said that's the smell of red beans. I couldn't believe what I heard,as if I don't know the smell of red beans and the stale taste.I didn't argue though YET I patronise these two items but didn't add red beans. Hope he will know his mistake, without admiting to me also would be okay BUT remember to SERVE FRESH AND NOT STALE RED BEANS IN CENDOL & ICE KACANG..to keep his...
