Iconic Suites & Pods Hotel — Hotel in Perak

My friends and I ended up staying in Jelapang area again because we couldn't find a place to stay in Kuala Kangsar for the recent 2018 Larian Sultan Nazrin Shah. So Jelapang is still the nearest and the best choice for me with around 30 minutes drive to Kuala Kangsar via the highway. There are many boutique hotels in Jelapang thanks to the Malaysia Animation Park Studio (MAPS). So this time around we stayed in The Iconic Suites & Pods Hotel. One of the main reason was because there were 4 of us and i'd like for us to stay together for a good catch up!||The hotel is among few that offers family room. I have to say it was the best choice ever. The hotel apparently has different theme for different room. We had the "Modern Classic" room. It was so spacious with four comfortable queen size beds, 3-seater + 1 seater sofa. The room we had was basically like a small studio. It has a room with two queen size bed and the remaining two is at the main area. Oh and there's two bathrooms too with 6 towels provided. Not to mention the room was indeed very clean.  Basic facilities were:||A mini fridge|An electric kettle with mugs and instant coffee, sugar, creamer and instant cereal drink|Hair dryer in both bathroom|TV |Iron||Things to improve is perhaps to have a small wardrobe or more clothes rack since if the room can fit as many as 6 people, there was not enough place that is appropriate and convenient to hang the clothes. ||We also extended our stay for a couple more hours. Check-out time is at 12:00PM with an hourly extension rate of RM10. Do book or inform in advance for any extension as it is subject to room availability. We had a glimpse of another suite with a different theme and we thought it was super cool!. || The location is conveniently located about 2-3 minutes drive from MAPS. Mydin hypermarket is within minutes and plenty of places to get food within walking...

The size of the room was unexpectedly very huge ! We stayed in a "Loft Cabin" theme unit and it's definitely worth every penny spent and all the amenities in the unit perfectly provided ; I.e bath gel, shampoo, vanity kit and etc - that is all branded as Iconic and thus it erased my first impression that my stay will be in a budget type of hotel . ||||The ambiance in the unit was cozy and very comfortable indeed. The LED TV is so huge and supplement the size of the unit , well done to the owners for understanding what customer need during their stay. Not to mention all the titbits (and Maggi Cup too) made available for purchase at the Reception counter.||||Check in and check out was prompt and fast , the Front Desk staff upon check in (Mr Zarul) very friendly and have the warm welcome attitude for a frontliner ,which is good as first encounter is the most crucial. While the Front Desk staff upon check out (Mr Azril) is truly an asset for Iconic Suites , as he is very curteous,friendly,attentive and informative when I inquired about Iconic Suites room products ; it was explained in detail and this enticed me to looking forward for another stay there when I am in Meru ,Ipoh area.||||Overall , it was an extremely pleasant stay for me and my family . Our family of 7 adults & 4 below 6 yr old kids took a suite (2 separate rooms with 2 queen beds in each & another queen bed in the lounge area) & another room just across the corridor (a separate room with 2 queen beds & another queen bed in it's lounge area) from 19th - 22nd Apr 2018. One room dubbed the Frozen Room had it's bedroom wall covered by a Frozen (the animation movie) poster - this really blew away the kids & parents alike. The room layout & facilities are great. During our stay, the lift for the 3 floor hotel was not commissioned yet as it was still very new; however the staff happily helped us with our luggage to our 3rd floor rooms.||The staff are all very friendly & obliging. Parking is available right in front of the hotel. Wifi & TV/TV Box very good & free. ||We mistakenly left some stuff in the room when we checked out - we called the hotel about this about 10 hrs later when we've returned to KL - they checked & without us asking, they offered to post the stuff to us in KL.
