We stayed in Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi Ocean Villas for 5 days. As beautiful as Maldives already is, the make or break factor of the vacation is the place you choose to stay. And boy-o-boy, are we gald that we selected Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi Ocean Villas for our vacation.
The staff at the airport counter greeted us with a smile and gave us the much needed water-bottles. They escorted us to the speed-boat and thus began out 30 minute boat-ride to paradise.
Upon reaching there, we were greeted with hot-towels, which helped us wipe away the tiredness from the journey (as if the view and beauty of the place were not enough). Since we had a reservation in Ocean Villas, our private butler (Vivek) took us & our luggage for a Caddy Ride around the island, showing us all the bars and restaurants and different beaches on our way to the Ocean Villas, while people who had their reservations in the Beach Villas headed over to their check-in desk.
After the minimal check-in formalities, Vivek gave us a tour of our villa and man.. the view was something else. These villas are made on top of the coral reef about 300-400 meters away from the main island and you see clear ocean water everywhere you look. We had a sunset-facing villa and were right in time for the sunset.
PS: I have never seen a sunset so beautiful in my life.
There is a plethora of activites to be done in the resort ranging from all sorts of water sports to diving center or you could just chill at the bar and enjoy live performances.
What impressed us the most were the staff at Sunset Restaurant. Everyone is so cheerful and keen to make sure you are have a nice time. Specian mention to Anand, Muizz, Pasindhu, Hoodh and Affan. These guys stood above the rest when it came to hospitality. If you are reading, a big Thanks to you guys!
PS: If you are in ocean villa, you will see the guys at Sunset Restaurant also at the Breeze Restaurant, which is where the breakfast is served.
One of the highlights of our trip was the Diving experience. We met Uchi at the diving center and she explained the process to us very patiently answering all our questions. Since it was our first time diving, she insisted we head over to the free-trials before making a booking, since making a booking and not showing up would attract a cancellation charge. Later that day, we met Oli at the free-trials and he explained the process and helped us get comfortable breathing underwater though the mouth. Next day, we met our instructor Karen. She was a perfect blend of strict and lenient, which made us trust her and feel safe. She made sure we got comfortable with all the scuba-gear underwater, and all the hand-gestures needed to communincate. Post practice, they took us around the island to the actual diving point and man, its a whole different world down there. I remember Karen saying one thing multiple time, "If you hold me, I cannot help you" :) Karen made sure that we were navigating around on our own and not pulling us around underwater, which made us be on our own and soak in the beauty of this new discovered world.
Shout out to Karen for making us comfortable and with the unique experience which a lot of people miss out on. Thanks Karen!
Our butler Vivek was always just a call away, ready to chauffeur us around the island or to help us with anything, absolutely anything at all. Shout out to Vivek here! Thanks Vivek, you made sure we had a great time :)
Lets not forget the behind-the-scene people working to make our experience how it was. Everytime we got back to the room from somewhere, we found our bed madeup, room cleaned, fresh towels, pointed toilet-paper, fresh toiletries and what not. A big thanks to the house-keeping guys!
All in all, it was a wonderful experience staying at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi Ocean Villas. If you are planning a trip to Maldives and this resort fits in your budget, give...
Read moreWe had booked this trip pretty spontaneously, and as it seemed that the beach villas were fully booked for our planned dates, we took 500 eure extra to book an ocean villa. In the end we would recommend everybody to do so, because the smallextra amount is definitely worth the money.
We stayed at the Ocean Villa 838 from beginning of September until the 11th. Access to the island is done by boat, which was pretty easy to find and takes only half an hour. As we arrived, we have been told we would get a personal butler for our time on the island, which was Abdullah in person. He took us on a golf buggy to have a quick journey throughout the island and to our room in the end. We arrived pretty early, so our room was not ready to move in, but we were invited to have breakfast in the ocean villa restaurant Breeze while our room was cleaned. Great service, especially after a 19 hours journey from Germany.
The room was fantastic. Everything waa clean and you have a brilliant view over the ocean from it. You can step into the ocean by the steps of your balcony for snorkeling or a quick swim.
Lunch and dinner you will get in the Sunset Restaurant, which is located near the access boat platform of the island. This is different to the beach villas, you have a different restaurant, which seems like it is far more crowded than the Sunset. But that was just our impression. You can get to the restaurant either by calling your butler, who will pick you up with the golf cart, and which most people did, or just have a small walk about 10 minutes, which we did actually. The food and service in the restaurant is just amazing, you got different choices of meals every single day, and everything we had was tasty and freshly made. There is also a live bbq station, which offers several kinds of meat to be cooked right in front of you. The staff is very obliging, I think we have never met any kinder hotel personnel than the guys working here.
As mentioned in the beginning of this review, you can utilize your personal butler for pretty much everything. We can just review or butler Abdullah, which was a completely amazing host. Just one quick example, there was one day we overslept, and he was bringing the breakfast to our room, without us even asking! Great service indeed, and a much greater guy, very polite, helping wherever he can and always ready for a good joke. Thank you very much for hosting us, Abdullah!
The island itself is just as you can see it on all the pictures on the net, true paradise. Our expectations were not that high, as usually the pictures to advertise a hotel is not always what you get in the end, same like ordering a big mac at McDonalds, what you see is not always what you get. But in this case, the photos are just representing what you will get on the island. Truly beautiful, just as you would imagine a lonesome island in paradise. You can participaze in several activities, for example fishing, jet skiing, parasailing etc. All these activities are of an extra charge, and we did not use them, so no review on that.
To conclude this review, it may sound like an advertisement, but we would recommend this resort a 100% and will be coming back. If you want to relax in paradise,...
Read moreA Perfect Return to Paradise – 3rd Stay at Sunset Ocean Villa with Exceptional Service by our friend Praveen
This was our third time returning to Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi and honestly, each visit makes it harder to leave. There’s a reason we keep coming back — the peace, the beauty, the comfort, and most of all, the people.
We stayed once again at the Sunset Ocean Villa, which continues to be our favorite accommodation on the island. As the name promises, you are almost guaranteed a perfect view of the sunset every evening — we’d say 99% of the time. Sitting on the private deck and watching the sun melt into the ocean horizon is something we look forward to every day. No photo or video can truly capture how magical it feels in person.
One of the things that makes our experience truly unforgettable is the service — especially from our personal butler and now dear friend, Praveen. His warmth, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate our needs make every moment feel personalised and special. He arranged an amazing private lobster dinner for us under the stars, complete with a beautifully set table and a peaceful atmosphere. We were also surprised by thoughtful little gifts that showed how much he remembered from our past visits. It's rare to meet someone so genuinely kind and professional, and we feel very lucky to have had him with us again.
The villa itself is spacious, clean, and comfortable, with direct access to the ocean. One of the best things about this location is that the water beneath and around the villa is deep enough to swim comfortably. You can walk directly into the sea without worrying about hurting your feet on coral or sharp rocks, which is often a concern at other resorts. Here, it’s all soft sand and clear blue water — perfect for snorkeling, swimming, or just floating and enjoying the moment.
What we love about Adaaran is that it’s not about flashy luxury — it’s about genuine peace, privacy, and beauty. It’s the kind of place where you can disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with yourself, your partner, and nature.
We recommend staying more than a week if you can. The longer you stay, the more you fall into the rhythm of the island — waking up with the sun, enjoying the gentle sound of the waves, and letting go of stress. Time feels slower in the best possible way.
A big thank you again to Praveen and the entire Adaaran team. You have created something truly special on this island. We already miss it and are looking forward to our fourth visit — because once you’ve experienced this kind of hospitality and natural beauty, it’s impossible not...
