Our recent stay in room 702 a self-catering 2-bedroom seaview apartment in this hotel was a mixed experience. The highlight of our accommodation was undoubtedly the seaview and the pool area, which created a serene atmosphere for our holiday.

However, our overall impression was significantly hampered by several unfortunate issues. The most troubling was the discovery of a troubling nest of ants in one of the bedrooms, with ants even venturing onto the bed. This not only disrupted our sleep but also made us feel very uncomfortable. To their credit, the hotel’s reception staff promptly responded to this problem by arranging for us to sleep in a different room (413) for one night while awaiting action from housekeeping. They did their best to mitigate the situation, which was appreciated. However, our positive experience was marred by an encounter with the manager the next day.

The manager’s response to the ant issue left a lot to be desired. Their attitude was disappointing, and they spoke unprofessionally about their staff’s efforts to resolve the problem. Despite this, the manager did grudgingly provide a 25 euro restaurant voucher as a gesture of goodwill, which was a small consolation for the inconvenience we experienced.

As if these issues weren’t enough, upon returning to our original room, we encountered a new problem. The toilet in this room malfunctioned on the second last day and remained out of order for the whole day, forcing us to navigate seven flights of stairs for basic necessities. Furthermore, the toaster in the replacement room (413) that we spent one night in temporarily repeatedly tripped the room’s electrics rendering it unusable. This added to the list of maintenance and functionality issues we faced during our stay. In addition we noticed an electrical socket next to the mirror in one of the bedrooms in 702 was hanging off the wall and needs fixing.

In conclusion, while the seaview and pool area were stunning, our stay was marred by the ant infestation which still persisted although to a lesser degree after we returned to the room, unprofessional behavior from the manager, and a series of maintenance issues. The hotel’s reception staff tried their best to assist, and the 25 euro voucher was appreciated, but the overall impression of our stay left much to be desired. There’s potential here, but improvements are needed and lessons need to be learned on how to exceed guests expectations and to remember treat lower ranking staff with respect...

I'm writing this review because, when I booked a two-bedroom apartment with a sea view at this hotel, I was a little concerned about some guests' comments, who told me that the rooms were dated, that there were no windows or openings in the living room, and many other negative things.|I even sent several messages (direct mail and comments on the website) to reassure myself. After receiving no response (I think it was a mail problem, see below), I finally called the hotel directly; the (very friendly) person answered all my questions.||Upon entering the apartment (#304), I quickly found myself smiling again: the rooms were large, the beds were good, the entire apartment was clean, the sea view was superb; I was even surprised to have a master suite. All the rooms had everything I needed: towels, shower gel, etc.|Two pools (one indoor with a spa, the other outdoor) were accessible, as well as beach access from the outdoor pool.|In addition, two bus stops serving all the tourist attractions are located just below the hotel. Numerous supermarkets and restaurants are nearby.|The staff was always friendly and cheerful, always ready to meet our needs, no matter the time (even at 3 a.m.!).||I admit that some small details were a bit dated: the balcony door was a bit difficult to open or close, we could hear the child from the apartment above running around (at reasonable hours), and the windows and vents in the bathroom and bedroom overlook an enclosed area outside the hotel.||Furthermore, I think there is an issue with some email domains (@free.fr for example), which explains why I didn't receive any email responses; the hotel should check this. I checked my spam folder and found nothing. This is part of my job, so I don't think I made any mistakes.||In summary, I find the price/quality ratio extremely good, considering that I rented a large sea-view apartment for four people with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room, a balcony, two pools, and a spa for a week for €1,800, while we got a tiny mobile home on the French coast for the same price (or even more)...||I hope this will inspire you to book a room at this hotel, as I am personally very satisfied with all...

Just back from 2 weeks at Sunny coast, some features of the accommodation were great such as the size of the apartment, pool areas, public areas and the staff who were always very friendly and helpful, however the one bedroom apartment was poor in quite a few areas. Although air con was provided it was pretty ineffective, the kitchen area was quite well equipped but some of the utensils were quite shabby and should be replaced, likewise the pool towels provided were small & quite threadbare. Our balcony was a good size with a great sea view, the living/dining/kitchen area was also a good size but lacked any real comforts , vinyl seating was uncomfortable and needed some cushions & better lighting. The bathroom was an ok size but shower curtain was a pain and clung to you when trying to shower, the towels provided were also a bit threadbare at times & it was a bit of a lottery which towels would get replaced but toiletries provided were nice. Cleaning of the room was every 3 days which I was ok with as you could ask for fresh towels in between cleaning visits. The room I found most disappointing was the bedroom, storage was lacking with only 3 small drawers & a 2 door wardrobe, which is not sufficient for 2 adults for 2 weeks. Beds & bedding were poor, lumpy pillows & worst bit was plastic coated mattress protectors. The bedroom window was a small frosted glass window which when opened had a view of the back walls & drainpipes of other rooms, with the window open there was a constant noise of running water. The layout of the building means that the apartments get little natural light & it always seemed a bit gloomy. Everything about the place was very functional & very little provided for guests comfort. The location was great but I probably wouldn't return unless rooms were given an upgrade, everything in the apartments just felt a bit shabby & in need of...

The visit to Sunny Coast was a mixed bag for us. To start with, finding a parking slot was a pain from day one. We had to make several laps around the area to find an empty slot. The receptionist was polite and helpful. We checked in fairly quickly. 3 out of 4 windows overlook a... large building site with workers pouring concrete, machines working, people in high visibility jackets moving around. We had to keep our windows shut and shaded all the time to have any sense of privacy :( The furniture is dated and half of it not functioning / falling apart. We had a massive bathroom leak on our second day - water from the bathroom went all over the floors. The TV did not work, the internet connection was slow and unstable - tethering from my mobile was the only way to have conference calls. We spoke with the manager about it all, they sent people to fix the leaks, adjust the furniture and replace the TV. 3 days into our stay we still had workers coming and going every day. To address the high road and building noise levels, they offered to move us into another flat. We went to see it. It was quieter, but there were no windows in the bedrooms and the furniture was a further downgrade, so we politely declined. Swimming pool and gym are across the road shared with other hotels. ⚠️ The price we paid for the room when booking this apartment in advance was 2 times higher than the price it was selling for when we arrived. 📢 The hotel is on a busy road. Even on the 6th floor, the noise of the road was very loud - constant engine noise and signaling. All three of us struggle to sleep - a terrible experience :( Bottom line: 1) expect old furniture, noise, poor internet 2) don't book in advance - you are likely to overpay massively 💲 3) see the room before accepting it

ROOM FACILITY: We had a lovely stay at this resort. Very spacious space with an excellent ocean view from our balcony. It's a self catering stay and they provide kitchen, dining table, kitchen utensils and additional table and chairs in the balcony ! SERVICE: Staff in general were very friendly, helpful, attentive and polite especially Prithvi, Anmol, Dhan and Raisa, along with most of the staff there. They changed the towels every third day and cleaned the space and linen too. FACILITIES: a gym, spa, pool all included. We couldn't use any of those facilities, and so can't comment! The gym opens from 6:30 am on weekdays and 09:00 am over the weekends/public holidays. FOOD: They do not have a restaurant but at Luzzo (very close by!) you get a 10% discount as it's a sister group. Just carry your room key cover and ask for a discount. Excellent food and service from Luzzo on both occasions! There is a small cafe at the ground floor (open only for certain hours: we never went to this cafe to know more about this). Another restaurant at the ground floor, but separate to this group: again never tried them! In general, there are plenty of excellent rated restaurants locally, and in short walking distances. LOCAL SHOPS: there were couple of grocery shops. But one close to the Chinese restaurant was cheaper and friendlier than the shop across the bus stop! They were outrageously expensive and unfriendly! PARKING: I wish they had an adequate parking facility for the guests. There is parking space around the resort but it is a first come-first serve style, meaning parking space is not always guaranteed! We hired a car during our stay, but couple of times we ended up driving around locally to find a suitable parking space. However, parking is mostly free in Malta!

We're a family of 5 and got back last week and stayed 11 days at the Sunny Coast Resort. We stayed in the apartment with what they call a partial sea view. It was a generous upgrade that we were not expecting. It's a maybe a side view of the sea, but a brilliant view none the less. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the sofabed is also good and even pulled out the living area had plenty of space. The kitchen facilities had all the basics we needed (and we like to cook). We loved our stay in Malta and were out every day, but the idea of coming 'home' every day was lovely. The apartment was spacious, and all 3 kids quickly found their corner and took ownership. We took full use of the facilities with our daughter preferring the pool (i think a mix of chlorinated and sea water) and older boys and hubby walking through to swim in the sea. We all enjoyed the spa, although only discovered it in later days 🙈 our own fault. It was a lovely hideaway in the indoor pool (chlorinated) after a day in the sun. Hubby even booked a session in the sauna with our boys. On our walk, we discovered an automated laundry mate, literally next door from the main road, so we made use of that. It was clean and easy to use. We loved our stay and will be back.
