This Hotel is wonderful. The service is absolutely amazing! Every single person who works there is so polite and friendly! We went mid June, which is the beginning of their winter, buy the weather was perfect fr Brits! The evening temp was 24 degrees. Not cold, at all. Its not windy on this West Side, unlike what I've heard of the East Coast... the food is wonderful, such variety, they keep most hot food under large metal covers, warming the food below, and remove the lids for u, to help urself, or cook fresh fish or steak etc, over on the hot plate. The desserts were varied and plentiful. I chose an omelette every day, cooked to order, on the hot plate, adding my own bacon, mushrooms, hash browns etc. The hot chocolate fm the breakfast coffee machine, is amazing! We ate mostly out on the verander, which overlooks their beach. The beach has lovely wooden sunbeds, with fat comfortable pads, under tropical 'grass' parasols. There's also a lovely pool, with beds n parasols. It's a wonderful hotel, rite on the beach! The sea was warm, but apparently is even better in their summer. There are free use of snorkeling. Paddle boards, sea kayaks and pedallos. There's an afternoon tea and cake. The bar, makes up with fresh ingredients, fantastic cocktails, we were on All Inclusive, and had many choices, none made from concentrate and all delicious. The head Barman Patrick is a delight! His Brandy Alexander's, Citronella Punch, and Pina Colladas r fantastic, to name but a few. ALL the waiting staff, r wonderful, so smiley and polite and quick to clear or attend. Wilice especially! We also chose to pay extra to hv their special lobster menu, 5 courses, which r served ON THE BEACH, RITE NEXT TO THE SEA! They bring a table down onto the beach, and set up lights, it was FANTASTIC! the lobster bisque soup - gorgeous, the prawn starter - gorgeous, lemon sorbet cleanser, the LOBSTER FANTASTIC! And the flambayed bannas yummy. It's a VERY big meal, so don't eat before! It was SO worth the extra £, fantastic! About £70each, but, in a restaurant 'out', wud hv been sooo much more! And of course served with ur own choice of AI drinks, fantastic! The sand is beautiful. The sea is gorgeous. We went on a day trip to the island, book it locally, u'll save so much money, speed boat, and swimming with wild dolphins, they swam rite towards and under me, twice! One of the best experiences of my life! Also includes snorkeling, and bbq n drinks on the island, Ile Aux Benetier, VERY RECOMMENDED! It's a wonderful hotel, on a beautiful island, where even the first locals we met along the beach, invited us to join them at their BBQ! Even all the locals r friendly! The scent, in the air, is tropical and sweet. Fm the flowers, the island is gorgeous, the Hotel is wonderful, we can't wait, to go back! THANK YOU, to all your staff, for an unforgettable holiday, we will most definitely b back. Oh. And we booked thru, Holiday Pirates, with Mercury, whose rep, arranged to join r transport taxi, to show us personally, into the Airport, to show us where everything was, Rahman, I think, I really appreciated the effort, and service, can't fault anything... just one, the beds, tho r Huge, r v hard, but u get used to them. Can't wait to return, THANK YOU, Caroline and RichardXxxx

Disappointing Stay at Pearle Beach Resort, Mauritius I recently stayed at Pearle Beach Resort in Mauritius, and I must say, it was a highly disappointing experience, especially for a so-called "luxury" hotel. I had booked a sea-facing room (Deluxe superior) for my stay, but what I was given was a room with a garden view and only a partial sea view. When I approached the staff about this issue, they offered me an upgrade to a better room ( Deluxe Club) for an additional 4000 MUR, which I found completely unfair. It wasn’t my fault the room I booked wasn’t available, yet the staff showed no apology or understanding of the situation. The online photos and room description clearly showed a sea-facing room, and I chose Pearle Beach over the Hilton based on that. Ultimately, I had to pay the extra charge because my booking was non-refundable and I didn’t want to waste time arguing, but it left a sour taste. On top of that, the room was not stocked with any water bottles. I called housekeeping at night to ask for some, and I was told they could only provide water once the bar opened in the morning. This meant we had to sleep without drinking water since all nearby stores had closed, which is completely unacceptable. I’ve stayed at many hotels, and it’s standard for rooms to at least have a few bottles of water provided. The staff at the front desk were incredibly rude and unhelpful. Customer service was far below expectations, especially considering this hotel is supposedly a luxury resort. I was also disappointed by the lack of 24/7 room service. Even lower-rated hotels I’ve stayed at offer small food options around the clock, but here, you have to wait for specific meal times. The room (Deluxe Superior) itself was outdated, with old furnishings and even the “Deluxe club” although better with furnishings had a complete lack of basic amenities (like toiletries). I paid 14,000 MUR per night, and it certainly did not live up to the price or the hotel's so-called luxury status. The hotel seems to focus entirely on all-inclusive guests, with little regard for those of us not on that package. A la carte options are unavailable between meal buffets, which is inconvenient and frustrating. We even tried to relax on the beach beds and order a drink, but they refused to serve us drinks from the bar while the buffet was going on. When the bar finally opened, they didn’t allow us to order any snacks with the drinks, which made no sense. The resort has a private beach but they do not serve at the beach beds and one must sit at the bar or restaurant to drink and eat, this was unlike any “beach” resort Ive stayed at. In conclusion, Pearle Beach Resort is definitely not worth the 4-star rating it has on Booking.com. I’ve stayed in cheaper hotels all over the world that were a million times better than this place. My first two days in Mauritius were ruined, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please find attached a picture of the “Deluxe Superior” room and the description provided online which clearly shows and mentions a sea facing room, which was not what we had been allotted initially.

We were not happy with the service and hotel reception at all- although this place looks very cosy, is perfectly situated for the best sunsets in the world and is located within walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets. This was the second hotel on the island that we stayed in so we were expecting the same great experience that we had earlier on the East coast and were very disappointed that we chose to spend more days here instead of there even though we spent nearly the same amount 1- Reception- no information or recommendations about local area, restaurants, drinking water. We were Bed and breakfast clients for 6 days and they didn’t provide an a la carte menu or give us any information on deliveries available in the area, no PCR test information no sight-seeing information or activities that we could do…we had to find our way around 2- Main Restaurant- Stations not manned at breakfast, food runs out eg no fresh bread, bacon or stale eggs, no cups, teaspoons or glasses for juices. Very hard selling spa ladies greeted us at breakfast. 3- Main bar- only 1 experiences mixologist, inconsistent pricing for bed and breakfast customers which we were, lack of ingredients for standard cocktails 4- Room- cleaning was good but they didn’t clean the balcony in all 6 days that we were there, no hotel information in the room. 5- Boat house activities- wrongly advertised as free glass boat was not available, generally friendly staff that were more helpful with information than anybody in reception 6- Spa- lady used hard-sell tactics and didn’t let us go through the actual brochure to understand services and instead promoted her own packages onto us and was inflexible with our timings, which meant we didn’t book anything despite wanting to. 7- Hotel Services- there were none and we had to find our own taxi to and from the hotel and when we finally got a price for an airport transfer it was nearly double the price of an outside supplier. I would not recommend this hotel to tourists wanting to explore Mauritius- it is not a good reflection of the place, and is in fact probably one of the worst holiday resorts we had that was too pricey for the service provided.

I tried emailing the resort numerous times to be handed over to the complaints department or manager but have been ignored. So will post this publicly :)

I am writing to express my concerns about the treatment my wife, my four year old son and I received from one of your receptionists, Teesha, during our recent stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, our interactions with her left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. From the moment we checked in, Teesha exhibited a dismissive attitude. She rushed through the registration process and responded to my wife's inquiries with phrases like, "If you let me finish, I will tell you," which felt unprofessional and unkind. On another occasion, when I asked for a bottle opener for two glass Coke bottles I had brought in from a corner shop, Teesha sighed and called a bartender without informing me of what she was doing. A simple explanation would have made the experience much more pleasant.

Additionally, when I inquired about a karaoke session during dinner, her reaction was one of confusion. While she eventually provided the start time, I had to ask for the end time, which seemed unnecessary. A more proactive approach in providing information would have been appreciated. Each time we entered or left the hotel, Teesha’s demeanor was unwelcoming; she often appeared indifferent and did not smile. After we made an initial complaint to another receptionist, we felt that it was misconstrued and became a topic among the staff, which only made our experience more uncomfortable. While we appreciate the extra attention we received afterward, it felt forced and insincere.

While we had high expectations based on your 4-star rating, unfortunately, our experience fell short in several areas.

During a visit to the reception to inquire about Casela Zoo, I felt like an inconvenience. I asked what time the zoo opens, how far it is, the recommended time to leave, ticket prices, and how long it takes to explore the park. Teesha’s responses were short and lacked the detail I was hoping for, leaving me feeling unwelcome. Additionally, I encountered issues with the iron. While I understand there’s a 30-minute borrowing policy, it seemed excessive that staff were calling my room within 15-20 minutes and knocking on the door. This felt intrusive and made me question whether I was being treated fairly.

Furthermore, the room telephone was not functional during my stay, and despite mentioning it several times, the issue remained unresolved. I also faced repeated problems with my room key card; it failed to work four times, despite my efforts to keep it away from mobile devices as instructed. The hotel itself felt outdated and in need of refurbishment. I noticed a lack of variety in the buffet options, and the presence of stray cats and birds scavenging for food was both concerning and unappetizing.

Lastly, I observed that the luggage staff seemed to prioritize Mauritian and French guests, making our experience feel less valued.

I wanted to take a moment to commend one of your staff members, Luqmaan, for his exceptional service during our recent stay. From the moment we arrived, he made a significant positive impact on our experience. Luqmaan assisted us with our luggage and consistently checked in on us to ensure we were comfortable. His lively and humorous demeanor made our interactions enjoyable and welcoming. I was particularly impressed when we needed a thermometer for our child. Although the hotel didn't have one, Luqmaan went above and beyond by searching for the nearest pharmacy, providing us with closing times and directions. He even followed up later to see how my son was feeling! His dedication to guest satisfaction truly stood out, and it made our stay much more pleasant. Thank you, Luqmaan, for your outstanding service!

I hope you take this feedback seriously, as we believe a 3-star hotel should provide a higher caliber of service and hospitality. Thank you for your attention to these matters, and I look forward to...

We spent two weeks at Pearl Beach Resort & Spa over Christmas, hoping to celebrate a special birthday and the festive season in a relaxing, high-quality setting. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly poor and not remotely close to what was promised or described by thethe tour operator we booked through.||One of the most concerning issues was hygiene and cleanliness. We had cockroaches running over us during the night, our adolescent son had one fly at him which was very traumatising. There appeared to be woodworm or termites in the bathroom—the wood was visibly moving due to small insects eating away at it. This is simply unacceptable. When reporting this to reception, a cleaner was sent to spray some insecticide in our rooms!||The food was repetitive, low quality, and unimaginative, especially over a two-week stay. Much of it was bland, with frozen fish, tough steak, and a general lack of fresh options which you would expect in Mauritius. ||The coctail bar had no mint available for cocktails/mojitos for the first week of our stay, which is just one example of theil lack of organisation/how poorly stocked the bar was. It honestly felt like the staff were working with a limited budget and little creative direction.||The entertainment and activities were extremely underwhelming. The advertised poolside sports activities were practically non-existent. On the one day we did sign up for aqua sports, the session was laughable—the trainer was completely disinterested and left as quickly as she could. Evening entertainment was just as disappointing, with a DJ who behaved inappropriately, frequently flirting with single female guests. Entertainment took place in the main dining area as guests were finishing their meals, with fully lighting, which was not an ideal atmospheric setting.||The atmosphere around the hotel was far from relaxing. Large groups of all-inclusive day guests were allowed in, many of whom became heavily intoxicated and very loud, one even falling over drunk in front of children in the reception area. The pool area was noisy, making it impossible to unwind. ||There were also frequent all-inclusive wedding/engagement parties where huge numbers of local guests came to the hotel for the day to celebrate and use the facilities, at which point not only was it incredibly noisy, but we did not have access to sun lougers around the pool or on the beach. We even witness a young child from one of these parties being encouraged to pee in the pool!!!||Facilities in general were in poor condition: the table tennis table was broken, and the pool table was out of order. When asking about this being repaired, we were told it was damaged in the hurricane several weeks back and told it was not scheduled to be repaired for 2 months. Several beach sunloungers were also in need of repair. The grouting in the pool had moss type vegetation growing on it, which also made us question the hygine level and reluctant to use the pool.||While many of the staff tried their best and were very polite, it was clear they were overworked and under-supported.||We left this stay feeling incredibly disappointed, frustrated, and completely let down—especially having spent a significant amount of money for a milestone birthday and Christmas. This hotel is absolutely not value for money, and sadly, it’s not a place we would ever consider returning to or...
