Had an overnight layover and didn’t realize there is a taxi mafia here and cabs are $100 usd into town and back. This hotel was super expensive both for Mexico and for what was offered. I had to call twice to get the free shuttle come to pick me up from the airport. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk had an attitude, didn’t smile once, had 4 other employees trying to help her find my reservation and then told me they only had smoking rooms left though I had booked non smoking. I obliged as I just needed to sleep somewhere but now I’ve been woken up with an itchy throat and the windows in the hotel barely open an inch.
They offer a breakfast voucher which would be nice if I didn’t have a 6am flight. The man helping the women with the attitude assured me they could pack a breakfast for me and it would be waiting at the desk. I wasn’t expecting this and expressed my appreciation, asking if mine could be without meat as I am a vegetarian. He smiled and told me he would talk to them and have them put together a fruit breakfast. So I get to the airport and go through security- they pull me aside because apparently the hotel gave me a can of soda for breakfast?? And then when I get to my gate I look in the breakfast bag and it’s just a piece of boloney slapped between two pieces of bread. Disappointed overall with the hotel service especially as my total came to $117 USD. The only good part of this hotel was the fresh made salsa served at the restaurant...
Read moreRooms very nice clean basic, furnishings all in good shape, accurate photos on the website. Hallway bland with old carpet that badly needed to be stretched, it looks like they were about to re-carpet because a 5x5 chunk of carpet had been removed to bare concrete at the far end.
Free breakfast is buffet, eggs, pancakes, french toast, taco chips, refried beans. Coffee. No cereal, no toast, no muffins, no fruit - but I asked for toast and they amicably brought me a buttered slice. Asked for rice but no. (You can buy some fruit atbthe nearby OXXO) Update: above was buffet this morning we could order from the menu with the breakfast ticket, so greater variety & choice.
Pool - maybe 80 degrees... if that, but nice little area. It looks like at one point there was a gym in the small room beside the pool?
Oddly no information inside the hotel room like restaurant menu, bar hours, local attractions, no pen/paper, no clock. Yes coffee maker, yes iron with board, yes bottled water. I gather the bar is closed if there aren't enough customers in the hotel? You can get alcohol in the restaurant as desired.
There are street tacos (out of back of a local vehicle) available on the street beside...
Read moreI stayed here one night. I walked from the airport as I couldn't see where the shuttle pickup was and wasn't able to call. Thanks to a tip here on Tripadvisor, I entered the back way via the electronic gate. As others have said, check-in in not allowed prior to 3, but I was able to sit by the pool. As I booked directly with the hotel, breakfast was included, and I thought the chilaquiles were really good. The pool was clean and not crowded, and the recliners were comfortable. Pool water was cool but swimmable. The room was pretty basic, but had strong Internet. I walked back to the airport in the evening and took a public bus to San Jose....did the same back. I was able to utilize the hotel's shuttle back to the airport. This was definitely convenient but there really is nothing close or walkable (and I'm a walker). If I were to return I likely would look into other options, if only to have options for food, sightseeing, etc. Where I likely would use again would be if I had an early morning flight and didn't want to pay resort prices for an extra night. I'd stay at the resort as long as possible, eat in town, and then uber...
