CASA URBINA WINE RESORT — Hotel in Baja California

Great location and land. Convenient if going to Frida. The wine is expensobe and not so good. The restaurant is closed. There is no pool. It's called ' resort" but you will not get anything that you normally get in a resort. Bed matres is not very comfortable. The Bed covers are soft and very clean. The pillows are not very soft and very high. Bring your pillow from home otherwise you will have neck pain the following day. The water from the shower is not very hot unless you ask front desk to send the maintenence person to fix it. The water from the bath sink will get your belly totally wet if you fully open the valve. There is no coffee maker inside the room and the coffee from the hotel lobby is terrible. More terrible if done by the security guard. |The place is very secure and quiet unless the restaurant from next door decides to host an event. If an event is scheduled, be ready to be awake at 7 am on Sunday morning. The speakers with music will be full volume. You will not be able to sleep. Those events are very loud. Overall quiet place but those sports competition events are twice a year. The tesla charger works. You will get room service and fresh towels every day. Excellent customer service but bad hotel policy if you arrive early. Friends and I booked three rooms three weeks in advance for two nights. Three (3) days before our reserved first night, the hotel cancelled all three rooms, explaining only that, "There was a problem with the platform. So sorry." That's it. I feel bad for the receptionist, as I naturally flipped my wig on her.||||My friends and I booked on two different platforms (Orbitz and hotels dot com), so the platform line is a lie. I asked several times to speak to the manager. "He's in a meeting." Then later, "He's not here." A manager never called me, nor has he called as of the date of this review.||||We booked elsewhere (Bottega by Hotel Boutique) and enjoyed it. Great service. On Highway 3 and very close to Encuentro Guadalupe and Finca Altozano.||||Out of curiosity, we drove over to Urbina to check it out. It had the look of a construction site in the front, just past a huge solar panel installation. Perfect if you like desolate / post-apocalyptic, I guess. There was one maybe two cars and some people drinking outside. The rooms looked good in the photographs, but in person, they look out onto sad, scrawny vineyards. We were collectively grateful and howling with laughter from the car. Urbina's major screw up was to our benefit.||||Stay at Bottega (or anywhere else)...
